juanorozcov··on Things I wish I had known when I started programming, Part 4 (2019)
Yeah, maybe it should've been something like 'it gets better/bearable' after a couple of weeks, I don't think it ever really goes away.

juanorozcov··on The Liskov Substitution Principle (2019)
"a derived class should require no more and deliver no less than its base class"

Uh, very nice, I need to write that down, it's by far the most concise version of the principle I've heard!

Thank you

juanorozcov··on The Liskov Substitution Principle (2019)
Thanks!

I will try to make the explanations clearer, I'm still trying to improve my writing and this is very much appreciated, oh, and the code is Ruby.

I forgot to add the source code for the article, I just pushed it to a git repo and added a link to it at the article's footer.

Thanks again!

juanorozcov··on Ask HN: What is your blog and why should I read it?
https://www.brainstobytes.com/

I try to explain important concepts for software development/data science or share things I believe are important for our careers.

I don't post that often, but put a lot of work into every article.

juanorozcov··on SE job descriptions: A guide for HR professionals and new developers
Not long ago I saw an image listing all the ... well ... BS-alarm-triggering phrases you often see in descriptions for software development jobs. That made me reflect on how often these things happen, soI wanted to write an article about it. It might be a warning for new developers, or a call to HR professionals to improve their job descriptions.
juanorozcov··on Object Oriented Advice: Depend on behavior, not data
Seeing objects as entities that can answer questions and perform actions is one of the things that helped me wrap my head around OO programming, something that took some effort when I was starting.

If someone is still in the same struggle I found myself in years ago, this might help clarify things.

Thanks

juanorozcov··on If you are sick please just stay home
I know this is common sense, but for some reason, it's still a pretty taboo topic among programmers and IT professionals. I wanted to share my (and probably everyone else's) views on the topic.
juanorozcov··on Things I wish I had known when I started programming
It's incredible how little value our old folks gave to things that were not tangible. Glad you kept writing code and made a career out of it.
juanorozcov··on Things I wish I had known when I started programming
I wrote a series with some tips and other things I wish I'd known when I started programming, and I thought it might be useful for someone so I'll post them here.

The series has 8 articles right now, navigating to them it's easy from the one linked on the top. I really hope this helps someone, even if it's a little bit.

Thanks.

juanorozcov··on One-hot encoding taught using Pokemon
Yes. I am planning on building a tutorial series on sklearn in the future, I'll take this into consideration. Thank you
