jpgreens··on Incapacitating Google Tag Manager (2022)
What if we could resolve every domain to 0.0.0.0 by default at the start. When visiting a website manually through the browser's URL bar it would automatically be whitelisted. Clicking links would also whitelist the domain of the link only. Sure you'd have to occasionally allow some 3rd party domains as well. Guess it would be cumbersome at first but after a while it would be pretty stable and wouldn't require much extra attention.
jpgreens··on News from Germany: The Competition to Control World Communications, 1900-1945
What I gather from this is that mass communication mediums are all being used in the same way by political powers, whether you're looing at the Nazi regime, the CIA, the UK government, the Chinese CCP or any other power in history and today.
jpgreens··on Ask and Show HN: Ever coded for love? Willing to share?
I made a webapp with a button on it. When first visiting the site the user was prompted with "What's your name". The second prompt was "Who are you thinking of". Next, a link appeared that the user would share with the person they were thinking of. When cliking the button, nothing would happen unless the other party also clicked within a certain timeframe. The idea was to see wether if A thought about B, would B also be thinking about A. I built it in the beginning of my relationship with a very special girl, and we have used it a lot since then. We also used to the watch Netflix shows at the same time, clicking the button to mark the moment when to press play. Later I also enabled realtime drawing on the webapp, with each person having a different color. It all worked with a simple jquery frontend and a nodejs websocket server.

Please enlighten me as to which material achievements you refer. The destruction of neighborhoods and statues? When the distinction between inanimate objects that do not represent their ideology and living human beings fades, the world they will have created will be worse, not better, despite their apparent good intentions.

Thanks for introducing me to Coleman Hughes!
jpgreens··on Hong Kong: books by pro-democracy activists disappear from library shelves
This is a nice example of why I think calling ideologies by their name is more helpful to a discussion than calling a collection of ideas left- or rightwing.
jpgreens··on Hong Kong: books by pro-democracy activists disappear from library shelves
While your first two statements are true, they are a textbook example of a straw man argument. I did not say they are marxist because they don't want people murdered by the police. I also didn't say they're marxist because they're against celebrating slavers.

If you're willing to learn, you may want to look up what Patrisse Cullors has to say about her own BLM movement. I feel sorry that you think this is comical.

jpgreens··on Hong Kong: books by pro-democracy activists disappear from library shelves
This is not surprising at all. BLM is a neomarxist movement which is ideologically aligned with the CCP. The fact that all these companies are expressing support for BLM is absolutely terrifying and shows how much power this new neomarxist movement has.
jpgreens··on More inclusive language from Twitter engineering
I don't have words for this level of stupidity, but I'm pretty sure Twitter engineering can come up with some for me.
jpgreens··on HK man arrested for possession of flag
This is what communism does. A few controlling the many, making everyone equal in their misery.
