Having been one of those drones, I can attest that it will be very popular. :D

Thanks!

It's definitely a grey zone. I am definitely keeping all tech employees' info private, nothing is displayed on the site.

If it becomes large, I imagine big tech companies would try to fight it, but let's cross that bridge when we get to it.

For now, I'm verifying them via their work email.

So far, I've gotten decent feedback from my former colleagues and friends in big tech. Most of them take some sort of compensation for helping restore Insta / ad accounts - this is just a more direct way.

jpdpeters··on Show HN: I made a way for freelancers to collect all their reviews in one place
How do companies usually hire freelancers? Do they search for them "cold" online or do they go through their network (more my experience)?

Just wondering if the directory / lead gen angle actually works.

Have you considered listing somewhere else? BitsForDigits might be a good option instead.
jpdpeters··on Manhattan rents cross $5k threshold for first time
That sounds waaay too expensive. GDP per capita is 39K USD and 18% of the population lives in Paris. How would that work?
jpdpeters··on Ask HN: Is SEO still a thing in 2022?
Imo, SEO is still super valuable - but investing traffic that might be months (or even years) down the road of hard optimisation and content work can be put into question. To decide in your case, I would use SEO tools (SEMrush, ahrefs, there are many) and see how difficult it actually is to rank for your relevant keywords. If it is not manageable in your timeframe, there are 18 more channels (referencing Gabriel Weinberg's traction book here) you could test out before returning to SEO.
jpdpeters··on Show HN: Meme creator with agile/scrum based templates
Pretty nice tool! Maybe it's my connection, but the memes load super slowly when selecting a template. Maybe scaling them down will help make it a bit more of a smooth experience.
jpdpeters··on Show HN: Check if your website violates GDPR
Pretty sweet tool!
