why isn't there a place to post something where someone else will find it when searching that doesn't require auth? i get the logistics of what i'm asking, but i really think we need a global index.
i made https://github.com/denys-olleik/alternative-accounting, with cloud key and email address you can be https in six minutes. doesn't have pos but has real double entry journal and very simple architecture anyone can easily code changes, just takes consecutive concentration.
manual bookkeeper? a quickbooks user? or pen and paper? either way, it's not like any of you are manually entering debits and credits regularly into a journal like they have done forever before computers, databases, and software. we're not losing jobs because of ai but because we're in the middle of switching gas tanks. just a low energy production is causing everyone to panic and blame it on ai. i have so much work i wish i had the money to hire people. they're all just waiting for things to get cheaper. it's not like they don't have enough money to survive indefinitely, if they can make 90mil in two years vs 10mil now, the math is simple, just wait.
it's easier to stand on shoulders of giants than to write C++. anyone with two neurons should always be challenging themselves and there is plenty to do in C++ but they choose these easier languages and frameworks because they probably have family and outside life.
i've learned linux cmd with assistance from ai which i would have never done on my own. however, even with ai, i still struggle with anything c++ or winapi so it will require more manual effort to fill the gaps.
we're gonna cook ourselves to death with these tokens. if i was a billionaire i'd be enriching uranium under one of those data centers. if walter white could build a lab under a laundromat, a billionaire could figure out how to enrich uranium under a data center.
Save on something you can achieve in your lifetime. People saving for two plus years doesn't make any sense. Maybe you should have gotten something else instead.
Complexity is job security for less intelligent. The world is full of these senior developers holding onto their $100k+ jobs when all they do is sit in meetings all day.
the probably had to because these restrictions probably affected the final quality of the response. probably still wont be able to use... What i want to know is when will chatgpt produce good cryptography related code?
You have to see someone use it properly. Generally, know what is possible and just ask for pieces of code you can copy-paste and test. Control the response length by knowing what to expect. Try to model a dialog instead of plain answers.
maybe if openai let me generate an image through api? that would impress me. instead, they took away temperature and gave us verbosity and reasoning effort to think about every time we make an api call.
sucks that market forces doesn't allow a lone developer to be noticed against one of these companies because people refuse to spend time to try something new. as if time costs money. if we spend time on marketing we will be worse developers. then be surprised when one person takes down entire sector.
