Each premium data set is priced differently. Prices are set by the data vendor, ranging from totally free to $150/month. Most are in the $5 - $50/month range. (I work at Quantopian).

You are incorrect with respect to your explanation of "the 12th football being used for kicking". An entire separate group of footballs are used for kicking, outside control of either team. The kicking balls are brand new and are not allowed to be broken-in. They still have the waxy coating a new ball has. This was done some years ago to try to reduce the effectiveness of kickers.

There are many benefits to this approach and it is likely worthwhile.

Another downside is that you have a long cycle when it comes to assessing your churn. Yes, you'll see customers effectively churn by stop using your product, but when your customers are monthly, they are de facto making a purchasing decision every month. If they are annual, you aren't getting that re-purchase decision until the 12th month, when they have much more information about your service than pre-sale.

This is important. The 90 day time period is a typical clause in your options agreement. It is not universal. You should check for this and other "standard" clauses in your options agreement to ensure that your company isn't sneaking something past you when you're signing on.

This is one of the reason I ski living in Boston. Granted I can't do it on a daily basis, but I get outside on the weekends and get some sunshine. I can notice the pickup.

One less than perfect alternative is to use the Shift-c shortcut which will give you a compose window in a new window. Its not the same as your bookmarked compose view but it'll block most of your inbox. I'm with you though . . .

A fair point and it is a cost associated to the experiment we're running.

If you have a sincere interest in the software, you can convert on one of our forms on the website and you'll hear from a sales person. You can get pricing relatively easily in that fashion.

Indeed. As a product manager at the company authoring the post, I frequently prototype a new report in this manner.

We're not producing custom written software for a single customer, rather cost-effective software product used across many many clients. So yes, as our bug queue will attest, our software is not perfect. Each report has had and will have bugs. But the number of defects each customer must find and resolve themselves is likely lower than alternative approaches.

very perceptive. We are currently running a pricing experiment with our sales team. We operate with an inside sales model so not publishing the prices (currently) provides latitude for our sales team to run the experiment.
