This isn't a legal document, it's a press statement. Go look for conspiracies elsewhere.
And women-specific events reinforce a divided image by presenting the events as specific to a group. It highlights a division between groups, and not based on a functional difference relevant to the field. What's different from a women-specific coding meetup and a meetup open to all? I can see sexual harassment / feeling out of place as something that may happen. And that sucks. But retreating to exclusive events (in name and branding at least) is not the solution.
Linux Mint is the "top distro" _on Distrowatch_, which is much worse than sampling from, say, Google, which might have a more representative sample. Visitors of Distrowatch are significantly more likely to be not just tech-savvy but also interested enough to draw distinctions between different flavors of Linux. I see myself as being pretty "tech-savvy", yet I never cared enough to look into distros outside of Ubuntu 11.04.
Especially given the fact that a Facebook survey suggested 90%(!) of users are still using Ubuntu, seems like the article even discredits itself.
If the answer is because of discrimination, then I would argue that creating an accelerator for these minorities is just as discriminating, is it not? If it's not discrimination then, well, my assertion about it being discrimination still holds.

Personally, I prefer to respect the work they've put into the product and to accept that they may have insights deeper than mine. It's evident from Google's announcement that they see more complex issues around pseudonyms, and I will form an opinion after I see their changes. I do not understand this attitude of "Fuck those guys" - so much anger over a social network!

He's saying that the ctrl and the fn key (used to access the function keys instead of brightness/expose/volume/etc) should be swapped. I completely agree; I never use the fn key and my pinkie ends up bending for the control key.
That's just embarrassing.
I think articles like these are just looking for trouble. It immediately stands as being biased, and screenshots completely skew things in Ubuntu's favor. Seriously, "pushiness?" It's a bad thing now to be showing users applications on the home page of a store? Maybe it might get cluttered, but I definitely don't prefer Ubuntu's "Nice clean and unassuming" main page with just a category listing. "The listing is pretty simple?" Now you're just looking for things to say; I'm going to end my comment here before I make the same mistake.
