This was supposed to be my senior year at Princeton University. Instead, I'm crashing couches and apartments in New York City as I try to build the Internet's conversation platform – Roundtable (atroundtable.com).

josh_miller··on There are 2.4 billion people on the Internet. We should get to know each other.
Sorry about that! I think the "Secure" copy is a bit misleading. We'll take that down.

What we meant to communicate with "Anonymous and Secure" is, "Feel free to be completely honest because we won't show this information to anyone else, and we won't even ask for your name or identity!"

It was a weekend project finished on little sleep. Sorry abou the "secure" bit.

ditto! i've even started to compose emails in it. rivals IA Writer.
josh_miller··on Obvious Corp. backed Branch comes out of private beta
I like to think of branches as public email threads, but I get in trouble when I say that publicly. Obviously has poor connotations :)
josh_miller··on Obvious Corp. backed Branch comes out of private beta
Sorry for the confusion! We should be more clear about our intentions. We need write access so when you do get an invite, you can invite your friends to branches (via DM or @mention). But we'll never send anything without your explicit permission.

josh_miller··on Codecademy adds jQuery lessons and scratchpad
Loving this product. Especially the fact that you jump right into a lesson when you arrive at the homepage. Deliver value before asking the user for anything. Awesome.

That's exactly what I did :)

josh_miller··on Why I Dropped Out of College to Start a Startup
yah, you here? i'm wearing the Princeton shirt today haha
josh_miller··on Why I Dropped Out of College to Start a Startup
I hear ya. I got inspired, I am working with an amazing team – a relentless backend engineer and ridiculously talented designer – and worst comes to worst I go back to school in a couple of years. I would always wonder "what could have been" if I passed this opportunity up, but if I fail at least I can say I learned a lot and gave it my best effort.

Beer on you in two years then!
josh_miller··on Why I Dropped Out of College to Start a Startup
I won't argue with people who think I am crazy. That's a completely understandable deduction. What frustrates me are people who think I did it for the wrong reasons (i.e. $$$).
josh_miller··on Scott Heiferman (Meetup): "We won't escape real identity, & anonymity will die."
I worked for Scott at Meetup and can promise you that's the opposite of the truth. He's all about empowering people and communities, and disrupting traditional institutions. Read his full post on the page. He was making a prediction, not endorsing it.
josh_miller··on Moot: "sterile Facebook comments over provocative YouTube comments?"
we're on it! look for it on the next Roundtable (with Khoi Vinh, Garry Tan, etc).

Any other features you would like to see?

josh_miller··on Moot: "sterile Facebook comments over provocative YouTube comments?"
If the quality of TechCrunch comments were higher would you think about it? I'd actually love to participate in an engaging discussion on AVC.com, for example. But when 200 people have commented, and 75% of them are tooting Fred's horn, it's no fun.
josh_miller··on Moot: "sterile Facebook comments over provocative YouTube comments?"
Chronological. Ahh, we'll add timestamps for the next one!
josh_miller··on Moot: "sterile Facebook comments over provocative YouTube comments?"
Personally, I'd take Hacker News comments over all of the above!

Great feedback. We're working on adding a description now. The discussion is asynchronous and typically lasts 3-5 days. Users will be able follow the conversation as it unfolds and engage with it and other users in a number of ways. Please keep the feedback and suggestions coming! And if you have any ideas for features shoot me a note at josh@atroundtable.com... enjoy the weekend!

Ah, good catch, Thanks! It will start during the week of the 26th and last one week!
