joks··on Amazon Discriminatory and anti-competitive on eGift cards?
What is the cited policy?

What is the mechanism under which products like this are listed? https://www.amazon.com/Darden-Restaurants-1_DARDEN_standard-...

What exactly makes this illegal?

joks··on Are Xenoestrogens Causing a Global Fertility Crisis?
There's a lot wrong with this article (both in how it is written and the evidence it presents) but implying that rising LGBT self-identification is evidence of xenoestrogens while not even mentioning the vastly different social climate is kind of ridiculous.

The section about countries' fertility rates is also very weird, especially the idea that attributing much of the change to culture "is unconvincing since culture would have needed to change very rapidly in virtually all nations simultaneously" -- culture demonstrably has changed very rapidly in virtually all nations simultaneously, especially in the past 30 years.

joks··on Polyamory Is a Luxury of the Affluent, Just Like Everything Else We Have and Do
https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/polyam...

"In her paper, published in the Journal of Sex Research this past June, Balzarini compared the demographic backgrounds of 2,428 polyamorous individuals and 539 monogamous ones by asking participants to take an online survey. Her team found that polyamorous people tend to identify more as bisexual/pansexual, are more likely to report being divorced, and make less money yearly than monogamous couples."

"When it came to monogamous relationships, 74 percent of straight respondents reported being monogamous compared to only 17 percent of bi/pan respondents. (The remaining percentage identified as gay/lesbian or other.)"

Also, this is entirely anecdotal, but in the various circles I'm a part of, every single polyamorous person I know is queer to some degree. Granted, a lot of that is because the people in my circles are disproportionately queer, but not nearly so much that it would be the sole reason for that.

joks··on Polyamory Is a Luxury of the Affluent, Just Like Everything Else We Have and Do
Maybe I'm missing context that is hidden in the rest of the article behind the paywall, but this seems like a weird angle to me considering (especially working-class) queer people are massively disproportionately polyamorous compared to everyone else...?
joks··on ChatGPT knows things that Google doesn't
I feel like option 3 (ChatGPT is hallucinating the quote) is by far the most likely thing here. Voltaire is probably one of the top 5 targets of "fake quotes" out there, and ChatGPT is really really good at hallucinating highly likely answers (regardless of their actual truth.)
joks··on Mwmbl: A free, ad-free, non-profit search engine
Gave the front end a look and it looks like search query that starts with the letters "red" causes a 500 error, lol. Interesting concept though
joks··on It was almost impossible to make the blue LED [video]
????? Blue LEDs made white LEDs & LED displays possible. And blue light being bad for your circadian rhythm is just as true for an LCD display as it is an LED display.
joks··on <3 Deno
I think the assumption was that you were asking for the correct answer. Definitely makes sense after you explained it though (at least, it makes sense to me.)
joks··on ChatGPT and the Enshittening of Knowledge
WordPress and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race (jk, it's just hella overused)
joks··on Typing Is Hard
How does this metaphor make literally any sense? In what way is type checking similar to making sure you do not kill a person because you can't tell the difference between two organs that look completely different and are in completely different parts of the body?

Here's a metaphor that makes exactly as much sense: "Construction workers should wear hard hats." "If surgeons needed to wear bulletproof vests to perform surgery, that would be silly!"

joks··on Red flags I saw while doing technical interviews
It's even easier to do it with the inclusion of non-integers, though - `prod = a / (1 / b)`

Granted, that may be counter to the spirit of the question, but it's a valid answer lol

joks··on How to pick a random number from 1-10
3.14159 might even be a stretch though. I'm pretty sure the average person (or american at least) would only know 3.14
joks··on How to pick a random number from 1-10
Probably the plus. The TI-84 Plus was the calculator my high school (and maybe middle school) offered - I graduated in 2016.
