johngalt2600··on Ask HN: Where to find UX design resources?
Mobbin and dribbble have some great UI/UX to draw inspiration from.
johngalt2600··on Notes on OpenAI o3-mini
So far ive been impressed.. seems to be in the same ballpark as r1 and claude for coding. I will have to gather more samples.. in this past week ive changed from using 100% claude exclusively (since 3.5) to hitting all the big boys: claude, r1, 4o (o3 now), and gemini flash. Then ill do a new chat that includes all of their generated solutions for additional context for a refactored final solution.

R1 has upped the ante so Im hoping we continue to get more updates rapidly... they are getting quite good

Where to leave feedback? I am trying the Mistral dolphin model but getting GGML ASSERT errors referencing Users/tito lol (not me). Using iPhone 14 Pro Max.

if browsers have support for a feature such as masonry, but it is not enabled in css spec does that mean it cannot be used? I recall seeing masonry in a tailwind talk, very neat!
johngalt2600··on Making sense of React Server Components
Agreed. React is great but I really do not enjoy writing it. Much prefer Vue

very cool!
johngalt2600··on Ask HN: How has ChatGPT affected your day to day work?
Replaces Google+StackOverflow by a large account now. I use it mostly for code generation.

Just today I had it write me SQL scripts for batch refactors / renames / replaces of column data and table column definitions and to generate a c# enum class for a table of response codes a payment processing gateway responds with. It has made me much more confident in my day-to-day job where I write web applications for clients.

Certainly speeds up integrations and anytime I have a bit of uncertainty as to how to solve a particular task which I have not come across previously - its a game changer!
