johndoze··on NYU Eats World: An alumna laments the rise of an imperial university
This article is yet another thread in a long line of people complaining about NYU's rise. My personal favorite comes from the local rap group, Ratking:

Seems random, like Stanford transplanted to the fountain and the arch
Infecting the apple, a cancer in its heart
Why'd you make a campus out the park?
If it keeps spreading, It'll be deaded
  Panting and parched.

johndoze··on OS X Auditor
I'm familiar with python bridges at all - how would someone transition something with pyobjc as a dependency to the native alternative you mention?
johndoze··on Show HN: Pangoly – Build your shiny new PC
With any mild usage these guys are looking to make a killing in Amazon affiliate earnings.
johndoze··on Postmates NYC treats their deliverymen like trash

johndoze··on Postmates NYC treats their deliverymen like trash
I took insult to the way I was treated after the fact, rather than the fact that I was locked out.
johndoze··on Show HN: Never lose a website again
It looks like you're using InstantClick. Make sure you're implementing it right.

I hope you mean FAA.
johndoze··on Beware: Uber Has No Customer Service and Still Has Bugs
Likewise. I had a driver in LA disregard my directions and take a route that landed us in traffic. The bill was $114. I emailed Uber when I got my receipt and they got back to me before 10 the next morning. They refunded me down to an $88 charge, which was appropriate given the ride.
johndoze··on Seven-Planet System Detected
This is entirely dependent on the luminosity of the star. The intensity of the light diminishes according to an inverse-square rule and is dependent on the star's temperature and diameter.
johndoze··on Show HN: A Dashboard for External Monitors
Definitely.

Love to see a fellow UCLA CS student on HN.

I've been using http://www.geckoboard.com/ for a while. Their integration with AWS is what's kept me with them.
