Back in 2014, I remember talking with the founder about this project in the original Ethereum Forums when it was only an idea. I was also interested in self-organisation and decentralised management in a blockchain (Holacracy, etc). Glad to see he's come so far and still believes in his idea.

Texas has had secessionist movements also for some time, but it'd be also illegal to do a binding referendum, and Washington would take the required steps to stop it.

But we're not into the pump and dump thing and we want to be 200% compliant. So we'll have to analyse this move carefully. We're also very open to new ideas and input from the new members.
Hi! we are a couple of fellow HNers launching a new cryptocurrency-based project. We don’t even have the name yet! We’re in ideation and architecting phase and we’ll be building from the ground up a project similar to funfair.io, but without the ICO part. This means we'll need help with everything!: architectural decisions, devops workflows, games state sync design, security (WAF, IDS, etc).
Frontend Hypewords: React, Redux, RxJS, Webpack
Backend Hypewords: NodeJS, GraphQL/Apollo, Deepstream, RethinkDB, Redis, Kubernetes, Bitcoin, Ethereum
Requisites:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience
- Ability to learn quickly new stacks and technologies
Bonus points: - Strong maths
- Degree or PhD (CS or similar fields)
- Experience with bitcoin/crypto
Perks: - 100% remote position
- 40h/week organised as you prefer
- No hard deadlines (goodbye stress!)
- The best teammates ever
If you are interested send me your CV (email in my profile) and let's chat about it!Cheers!

It's already fixed with PoS... IMO the winner of the cryptocurrency-race will be a PoS-based coin.
An amazing contrast: "Publish or perish" driven research vs "I don't want the fame, I just want to build something useful and practical".

So you need to buy a SDR transceiver in order to operate...
I've posted this before:
Go to "shenanigans section": http://parasec.net/transmission/order-book-visualisation/
Code is available here: https://github.com/phil8192/ob-analytics, just in case someone decides to grab a good chunk of tick-by-tick data (orderbook) and wants to go down the rabbit hole...
Now that you name it, I totally forgot that Steem has a pretty good commenting system, and probably they're storing the entries on-chain. So maybe the answer is adding Graphene to the mix (Filecoin + Webtorrent + Graphene 2.0 as Blockchain-based distributed DB):

It's possible but far from efficient. Those are the pain points where decentralisation doesn't really cut it.
There's a reason why some crypto-companies (and not crypto actually) are based in the Cayman Islands (BitMEX), British Virgin Islands (Bitfinex), etc... Crypto Valley [0] in Switzerland is also gaining momentum. BTW, Fred Wilson wrote an interesting piece about this recently [1].
But the issue here is that if you plan to sell "tokens" to US nationals, you now know that you must play by the SEC rules. That or you shouldn't offer them to US individuals. Nothing rare about it, for instance CFDs [2] are financial instruments banned in the US, but traded without problems in the rest of the world. My guess is that ICOs will be like CFDs, offered around the world, but not to US citizens.

> In light of the facts and circumstances, the agency has decided not to bring charges in this instance, or make findings of violations in the Report, but rather to caution the industry and market participants: the federal securities laws apply to those who offer and sell securities in the United States, regardless whether the issuing entity is a traditional company or a decentralized autonomous organization, regardless whether those securities are purchased using U.S. dollars or virtual currencies, and regardless whether they are distributed in certificated form or through distributed ledger technology.

Spanish speakers will notice a lot of "familiar words", but most of the time it's difficult for them to extrapolate the meaning of what is being said.
It’s like saying that german, dutch and english (Germanic languages) are extremely similar… =)
A spaniard who doesn't speak catalan won't understand 95% of a normal convo... Catalan [0] is lexically as distant from the spanish as the Portuguese is [1]...
