Correct, it's not likely to change at this point. Official release is slated for Dec 3 according to their Twitter[1], so it appears they are getting everything ready to launch.
Likely off-topic, but Nasa's site feels very weird to me. Like it think I'm on a tablet. Everything is huge. And I'm on a 1920x1080 laptop using Chrome.
Okay, to make this slightly on-topic now, I am excited to hear about the discovery in about an hour and a half. Even if it was a 1.00 on the similarity scale, I'm more interested in finding out how habitable it would be for earth-like life.
I'm a bit curious. I was under the impression that changing your site to show different content to "Google" than "regular users" was against TOS and could get you banned from results all together. Do big companies pay to get around these restrictions or have there been rule changes in Google Search?
IMO there is no expectation of privacy with email. Maybe only false expectation. If you go into someone's home and take part in private discussions, you probably don't anticipate being recording in any manner.
Pretty nice. I saw the 3D buttons, and my initial reaction was they looked a little bland. Then I clicked and saw it press in and immediately my opinion changed because it looked very cool.
I saw this on /r/webdev and came here to check if it had been posted, glad it has. I hope you receive a resolution on this, and I'm glad when checking on all the freelancer sites, I decided against used Freelancer.com.
This is very cool, I'm anxious to see the full announcement and see what is said. I want to hear what others in the field see and have to say as well because I would never think a body with a diameter of just 250 km could actually have enough gravitational power to maintain rings.
This is no different from real life scenarios. Suppose someone stole a $5000 ring, sold it for $2500. The ring is still stolen, the police can and will confiscate the ring, so the buyer is out of the $5000 ring and their $2500 paid for the stolen property. The ring is stolen from the owner, the money is stolen from the buyer.
Totally agree with you. While there are times I'm very busy and wished I had a closed in office, 90% of the time I find it highly beneficial to be in an open office.
Just looking at the home page, the text being sooo close to the left-hand margin really bothers me. I use a portrait monitor and browse full screen and it just feels odd having to read the text butted up against my monitor border.
To be fair, the cable company transmits 1 signal to everyone, with Aereo each person has their own attenna. It's not much different from a service like slingbox except that slingbox uses your actual home signal whereas w/ Aereo you are effectively renting an antenna.
I'm on expert, having never played this, and this is amazing. I love the music, and I love the game. I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it after I keep playing, but for now I'm blown away.
I don't lock my phone to keep out the NSA or the government. I suppose those organizations would be able to easily crack in regardless. I lock my phone so my child can't pick it up and mess things up. Or to hopefully deter potential robbery. Thus, I think TouchID is great even though I do agree with the OP. If I had something like my primary computer that I needed to keep very secure, I'd shy away from using my fingerprint.
I think this looks like a great tool. I can almost imagine this being built 100% for ads, and then someone higher up at Google saying "Wow, this thing is so powerful it could build websites" and then it morphed into this existence. Just pure speculation but it's a little weird to call it Google Web Designer when everything else puts ads front-and-center.
I very often turn away from sites that ask me to sign up. It doesn't matter how interested I am, if you ask me to sign up without allowing me to see what I came to see, I will go away and forget I ever heard about you.
I totally agree. Yahoo has risen back into my mind and before her I was always like 'Meh, it's yahoo...' but now I actually think positively about Yahoo. Well, at least until I signed in the other day and found my account was removed for inactivity. They almost had me back...
I've seen periodic tables like this in the past that were just, blah...But I still reluctantly clicked through and was amazed. This is beautiful and organized very well. I find myself clicking through various newer HTML5 elements I've never used.
Job posting, requiring top-secret clearance, looking for people that have experience using certain tools including "GAMUT/UTT" - notice the URL from the NSA doc has "gamut" and "UTT". So i further looked into GAMUT/UTT and found this:
Totally what I was thinking. I feel like there should be huge protests about the NSA situation right now in the US but it's like no one cares, let's just move on with our daily lives and forget that everything we say and do is being listened to and watched.
