Don’t hesitate to get in touch with our support (support@drovio.com), we’d love to help :)

As for the new name, here’s how I came up with it: https://blog.use-together.com/moving-forward-with-drovio/

jlehuraux··on Show HN: Drovio – Remote pair programming tool
Yes, Drovio is a low latency, collaborative screen sharing tool. It lets you share your code and anything else that’s on your screen (API doc, what you’re actually coding - app or web app, any other editor, Sketch for your icons...).

With Drovio, you’re not limited to what’s on your IDE nor to terminals and shared servers. You can share docs, stack overflow posts, tools, any other apps, debug stuffs together... You all see the same thing and you’re all in control, with voice chat and video conferencing support.

Hey folks,

Some years ago, we launched USE Together, a remote pair programming and team collaboration tool. Back then, we were all frustrated with the lack of effectiveness of generic screen sharing tools with remote control support, and I wanted to do something about it. Today I'm coming back to share a new page of our story: Drovio!

Drovio is the evolution of USE Together and the summary of everything we've learned along the way, listening to our users' feedback for the past 3 years. The purpose remains the same, create a seamless remote collaboration experience for developers, yet with a completely revamped UI and some pretty cool new features.

So, what makes Drovio different?

- Instant collaboration with multi-cursors interaction: you're not alone at your desk any more!

- An interface developed with developer needs in mind

- Low latency screen sharing experience

- Fully secure P2P connection: data privacy at its best

- And last but not least: available on macOS, Windows and Linux!

Hey Marcin,

USE Together CEO here - we’d be happy to help and get that fixed quickly, don’t hesitate to drop us an email at support@use-together.com :)

jlehuraux··on Does usetogether/screen hero etc. use some kind of VNC or RDP protocol
Both are based on WebRTC: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebRTC

(RIP Screenhero)

jlehuraux··on Slack abandons screen-control during sharing, recommends Zoom
USE Together has multiple mouse cursors support as Screenhero had without having to pass control, any keyboard layouts support, has a web and integrated client, works on macOS and Windows (a linux version is planned), you can switch who shares at anytime, record the session... there’s a reason why Slack mentions us on their email/article ;) you should try it, already available for everyone!

We're indeed a small team (3 devs), but have been working hard those last years to build a complete Screenhero replacement tool for pair programming :)
jlehuraux··on Ask HN: Solutions for collaborative code review, pair programming?
Thanks for sharing Slovette :) we're building USE Together on Windows and MacOS (Linux coming later) as a Screenhero replacement tool for remote pair programming and collaborative screen sharing.

When you share a screen or app with people via USE Together, you see each user's mouse cursor on your screen and they can interact with your apps in real time, feeling like you are at the same desk.

You can share any IDE with USE Together :)

jlehuraux··on Show HN: USE Together 2.0 – Screenhero replacement for remote pair programming
Hey HN,

I'm Julien, CTO at OPEXMedia and we are building USE Together, a collaborative screen sharing tool.

Back in 2015, Screenhero, beloved collaborative screen sharing tool, was acquired by Slack. Two years later, it appeared no alternative was out. They eventually decided to fully shut it down last December after integrating some of its features in Slack, leaving no standalone tool to pair effectively.

Last year, we launched USE Together for Windows here on Product Hunt. Initially thought for professionals needing to collaborate on remote desktop environments, we decided to release it to everyone. We also released a Mac version in closed alpha few months later. We took a different approach to what Screenhero was and before it was shutdown. We offered a simple way to join a screen through a web browser without having to download anything nor having to subscribe to anything. We think today's digital collaboration should be that easy: "Hey, can you help me with this issue? Here's a link to my screen".

Although joining someone's screen on a web browser is pretty cool, the experience can be limited as there are many things that just cannot be done with it, mainly for "security" reasons (hello alt-tab / cmd-tab).

We got a lot of valuable feedback from our early users. Six months ago, we thus decided to rebuild USE Together, to bring you a way better experience. We are aiming at making it the best pair programming / collaboration tool in the world!

jlehuraux··on Ask HN: What are you using now that screenhero is dead?
Hey, we are building USE Together, fast collaborative screen sharing with multiple mouse cursors, available on Windows and MacOS! Check it out: www.use-together.com/screenhero-alternative/
jlehuraux··on Screen sharing in Slack, made interactive via Screenhero acquisition (YC W13)
Not yet, USE Together will stay free during the beta, while we are scaling it. Unlike Slack, it doesn't require the users accessing your screen to have any account on our servers.

Have you tried USE Together? Collaborative screen sharing with multiple mouse cursors and simple web browser access. Currently in free beta, we are working hard on Mac support, coming really soon :) http://www.use-together.com
jlehuraux··on Show HN: USE Together - Collaborative screen sharing with multiple mouse cursors
Hey HN folks,

I'm Julien, CTO at OPEXMedia. We have been working hard for the past two years on USE Together, a collaborative screen sharing solution: each user has his own mouse cursor appearing on your screen and can interact with your apps in real time, making you feel you are no more alone on your desktop! We have made it super easy to join a screen sharing session, from a simple web browser (Chrome and Firefox supported for now) without installing any software nor any plugin. We have also implemented hardware encoding (NVIDIA GPUs supported) to bring you a fast, low latency screen sharing experience as if you were physically in front of the screen.

We have seen many potential use cases for USE Together like:

- Easy remote working

- Project reviewing

- Co-designing on Illustrator

- Fixing some Powerpoint presentations

- Pair programming, we even used the solution to develop it (when it was mature enough) and to do code reviewing (then an infinite loop occured)!

USE Together is available right now, as a free beta opened to all! You can share a Windows desktop (Mac and Linux support coming later) with 2 people. Just for you HN folks, I'll upgrade your account if you want to invite more people on your screen, just ask :)
