jk27277··on A tale of two covariates: Why OWID and company are wrong about US healthcare
You can't spend more on everything, not on a percent of GDP basis. This is a stupid idea since every GDP is limited to 100%. If you spend more you have to take debt and spend future GDP

jk27277··on When George Soros Broke the British Pound (2014)
"we import more than we export. " Doubt that. Before you answer with a statistic, Google "dark matter in accounting" regarding the deficit.

If apple sells an iPhone to Germany. In what export balance does it appear? What company makes the profits?

jk27277··on Bank of Japan to be top shareholder of Japan stocks
”I often think the big challenge of economics now is perhaps not managing overall growth but managing sort of "decline" overall with demographic changes.”

You are a quick thinker my friend. If you figure out how capitalism can work on a shrinking or even steady state economy you will get the Nobel price. No kidding.

jk27277··on America's Seed Fund: Up to $1.5M for Zero Equity

Thorium reactors?
jk27277··on Chinese battery expert is charged with stealing trade secrets from US employer
The guy was an idiot. No Chinese company would stick to such a deal. Promise the world, deliver nothing.
jk27277··on Making Penicillin at Home
Doing an esterfication and extracting something are still two different things. There is no aspirin tree, even if the pharmacological actions are the same.
jk27277··on Making Penicillin at Home
TLDR: if, in a post apocalyptic world, your home laboratory is still running, you are able to grow penicillium or aspergillus cultures. These may, or likely may not, produce penicillin..
jk27277··on Alzheimer's risk 10 times lower with herpes medication
Interesting. Afaik Indians have a very low Alzheimer risk supposely because of curcurma. My friend claimed curcuma also mildens Alzheimer syndromes. This made me Google if curcuma helps against herpes. It does!
