jimjansen1··on Climate Change in a Nutshell: The Gathering Storm [pdf]
There is overwhelming consensus that the current rate of climate change, which by the way is totally unprecedented in history, can be from no other source than anthropogenic CO2. You can read the research and see how thoroughly and completely every possible confounding variable was accounted for.

The scientists who claim "current changes are, like all past changes, caused by other factors than the man-made" are not taken seriously by the mainstream, form an unimaginably slim minority and frankly are dangerously wrong.

jimjansen1··on Facebook reportedly discredited critics by linking them to George Soros
I bet there were Nazi's whose jobs were to feed the poor in Berlin. Doesn't immunize them from what the rest of them were doing.

You could probably say that about 90% of the people in the Bay Area.

I think you misunderstood. It's certainly possible to learn a lot by doing Leetcode. I'm saying that since solutions are available to their problems that you could simply memorize as many of them as you can and would probably pass most whiteboard interviews with memorized optimal solutions
jimjansen1··on Google and Facebook are monopolies. Does it matter? [audio]
>Anyone can index the web and anyone can build a social network and Google/Facebook aren't going to crush you with lawsuits or some other nefarious tactic to maintain their position (AFAIK).

Maybe but you're also almost certainly going to be acquired by them.

jimjansen1··on Data Structure and Algorithms Interview Questions for Programmers
There are hundreds of companies that don't use algorithmic interviews, they are neither necessary nor particularly useful.

> How, for example, would you evaluate whether they tell you the truth about their past project?

How is that any better than hiring a terrible dev that just spent 3 months memorizing Leetcode solutions? Aren't they essentially being dishonest about their skills?

>time-consuming Phone screens are already several hours over several days and on-sites are typically 8 hour affairs. Is this not already time consuming?

Genuinely confused by the Stockholm Syndrome-like mindset that devs have for Whiteboard interviews.
