IMO, I think local hosting is the primary usecase the Tor project should be advertizing.

I think most of these issues stem from the fact that most developers that write shell scripts don't actually understand what they're doing, treating the script as a necessary annoyance rather than a component of the software.
Rust and friends would aren't going to make all securty issues go away, just as sandboxing would not. There is no one true silver bullet in securty, at least not yet.
No need to let your biases leak out when noscri.
