They are both great. Really, every forum should just have a Q & A section that implements Stack Overflow or use a similar widget.
1. Post an ad on craigslist for personal delivery tasks and find people who would want you to deliver their package.
2. Post an ad on rideshare and see if someone can deliver your package.
Validate your minimum viable product first before you invest more energy in this.
Why yes, isn't that a great design? You don't even need to rationalize about what attracts a mate, you just like to do it by default, and most women just happen to be attracted to that by default also.
Certainly your chance of reproducing and passing down these default settings will be much greater than someone who has to rationalize about attractions, don't you think?
It's hard but it will happen eventually, or our species will die out before we get there, who knows.
Of course, that's never the case in real life. Imagine the time you would spend worrying about your investment and analyzing when it will go out or go down or when to exit, etc. If you convert that into money say $20/hr, is it still worth it to invest as suppose to buy the PowerBook?
Better yet compare it to the efficiency you have gained by having a PowerBook, or if you are a hacker, how much more you'd have learned by having a computer then. How would you even go about quantifying that?
I'm imagining a process where we meet once a week, brainstorm an idea, build a mock-up/prototype, test it and iterate. My experience tells me that many ideas will get thrown out of the window.
Do you know anyone who would be interested in doing that? Or should I change the process a bit.
I have a bunch of ideas. I'm sure every one does. I have become less of an idea person overtime because I know they are a dime a dozen. To me it's more important to have the right people to evolve and execute an idea.

How do you feel about that?
From my knowledge, PayPal followed some what of a lean approach. Their initial product was about sending money between palm devices. When they tested it and figured out that no one would use it, they just pivoted to online money transaction, which more people found useful. That's when they started to scale.
Now that sounds pretty lean to me.
Sure, the right path may be simple. But so are many successful start-ups ideas. Yet you can't just discredit the skills of the founders just because the ideas were simple. Because simple ideas usually came many iterations of bad ones
If I am an investor I'd invest in Steve because, he is, as PG once said, relentlessly resourceful.
The problem can be easily answered by using a thought experiment. Unfortunately many of such techniques are usually not taught in classes unless you are a in a Physics class for Physics majors.
I wonder why does the US have such a high reputation in entrepreneurship. Is it because we have a higher concentration of high tech start-ups (unverified), which generate more buzz in the media?

Plan out your schedule for the entire day (as detail as possible, i.e. when to have lunch and for how long) the day before and follow it.
The key is to get into the habit of timeboxing. Forget about tricks. There's no easy way out. You have a bad habit of procrastination. It will take much effort to undo that.
I agree with you that the author ignored some important facts. However, the thesis still holds that many achievements (i.e. education) have been dumb down to make people feel content about being less skilled.
The problem is that we are getting better at hacking our own brains to give us more reward than we deserve.
That's why this "porn request" thing is blown to such ridiculous proportion. If the main stream perception of sex was not skewed but rather much more open-minded, this discussion would have been as casual as a discussion about ice cream flavors.
Maybe it's faster to do a "img get"? Or that you can't terminate it half way as suppose to an ajax? Better browser compatibility?
I haven't test it yet. I just hope someone who has can educate me.
What's the advantage of doing it this way as suppose to using an ajax call?
This particular species is Schmidtea mediterranea.
You are focusing on the easier part of learning a language - listening and reading. All of my past students struggled far more with pronouncing and writing.
Of course recording the users' pronunciations and handwritings, and then verifying them is a lot more technically challenging, but still doable. It will surely impress a lot of people. (Maybe that's in your long term plan?)
Not saying what you made is not useful, it certainly is. But it's not where the pain is in learning a language. Depending on the curriculum, it may not make that much of a difference on each student's language ability. But then again, our current education system is not making that much of a difference either.
- You can make products that make money.
- You have startup experience
- You can work hard.
It's time to make yourself rich. What are you waiting for?
Pretty smart.
"Oh no, my internet fee will raise? F___ net neutrallity. I don't even know what that is."
The internet right now is a leveled playing field. Having all access to all website no matter big or small is good for the entrepreneurs.
If only the "premium" subscribers can have access to smaller websites, internet start-ups will have a much harder time reaching audiences.
I have trouble understanding how, as a start-up lawyer, you can sit there and watch big corporations eating your business away.
Here's a brief description about its proprietary search technology.
