jatari··on The Age Verification Trap: Verifying age undermines everyone's data protection
All "social media" that uses recommendation algorithms should be unavaliable to children.
jatari··on Loops is a federated, open-source TikTok
You can use youtube and never come across a "meme" like that.
jatari··on Why is Claude an Electron app?
>if humans are machines, they are sufficiently advanced machines that we have only a very modest understanding of and no way to replicate

Well, ignoring the whole literal replication thing humans do.

jatari··on Claude Sonnet 4.6
I agree that it doesn't break any rules of the English language, that doesn't make it a valid question in everyday contexts though.

Ask a human that question randomly and see how they respond.

jatari··on Claude Sonnet 4.6
Well it is a trick question due to it being non-sensical.

The AI is interpreting it in the only way that makes sense, the car is already at the car wash, should you take a 2nd car to the car wash 50 meters away or walk.

It should just respond "this question doesn't make any sense, can you rephrase it or add additional information"

jatari··on I’m joining OpenAI
The instant someone makes a better version of openclaw -literally- everyone is going to jump ship.

There is no lock in at all.

jatari··on I fixed Windows native development
Because some developers would like to make money at some point.
jatari··on I'm not worried about AI job loss
Well your great great ... great grandfather was a fish. So the universe is clearly fine with gradual intelligence increments. So all we need to do is make an AI that itself can make an AI that is slightly smarter than itself.
jatari··on I'm not worried about AI job loss
>It could even be a fundamental rule of intelligent life, that one cannot create intelligence that surpasses its own.

Well that is easily disproved by the fact that people have children with higher IQ's than their own.

jatari··on Outsourcing thinking
>Designing everything around cars benefits the class of people called "Car Owners".

Designing everything around cars hurts everyone including car owners. Having no option but to drive everywhere just sucks.

jatari··on A few random notes from Claude coding quite a bit last few weeks
Creation of the internet, social media, everyone on the planet getting a pocket sized supercomputer, beginning of the AI boom, Trump/beginning of the end of the US, are all reasons people will study this period of time.
jatari··on A few random notes from Claude coding quite a bit last few weeks
Also the method that will result in the higher quality codebase.
jatari··on A few random notes from Claude coding quite a bit last few weeks
We are very clearly living through a moment in history that will be studied intensely for thousands of years.
jatari··on State of the Windows: What is going on with Windows 11?
Literally every time I interact with the modern settings UI I give up 15 seconds in and switch back to the old control panel.

For instance, how do you change the key repeat delay in the modern UI? I have looked and I actually can't find a way to change it. I have to use control panel.

Just looking at the modern UI is an eyesore, there is so much empty space, a menu that should be a 600x400 rectangle takes up the entire screen. The information density is comically low. I have to scroll up and down this giant monitor sized list to find the one thing I am looking for. It's horrendous.

jatari··on Simulating the Ladybug Clock Puzzle
Well the starting position has no impact on the outcome. Each number other than the starting number has exactly 1/11 chance of being the last remaining number.
jatari··on Simulating the Ladybug Clock Puzzle
It's a nice puzzle because at first it seems like you would need to do some complex probability calculations but by just looking at it for a while you can come up with the 1 basic insight that instantly makes the solution obvious.
jatari··on Consent-O-Matic
Well the extension is called "I don't care about cookies", not "I care deeply about my privacy"
