He's been touted as generally brilliant but it looks more and more like he has not only feet of clay but a gold pin in his belly button.
Perhaps we could have avoided this outcome, and perhaps there's still a way to return to a sane life.
I'm really hoping for a non-technological solution, although I know that people's minds are hard to change. I'm hoping that us people can find a way to be content with what we've already got.
It's not practical to have 100's of reference books and texts, but if I've got access to a good library I can juxtapose several references and texts in a way that digital technologies can't emulate.
Some libraries use wonderful classification systems such as Bliss, which really appeals to me for the way it seemingly shelves books on different subjects according to the kind of thinking thats gone into them.
A section of a library I used to visit used Bliss categorisation, which is just so conducive to discovery!
The buzzing got louder and louder. I needed to stay in my job long enough to fulfill electrical registration requirements, so I left the same day my ticket came through.
It might be something about the electricity that f's me up with computers. I do know I keep much better health away from them.
I'm writing this on a phone - for some reason that doesn't hurt so badly.
I can design algorithms, write stories, investigate questions in Physics or Chemistry etc quite well - for as long as I don't try to do it with a computer.
As for now, I find I'm better off, in myself, doing quieter work.
I'm leaning towards the "aliens exist" opinion, btw.
When combined with poor education systems, the outcome must be ignorance.
In the event of global catastrophe we won't even know what we need to learn.
Is it OK to be baffled? Is there any way we could follow our dreams of plenty without destroying our own lives?
You might discover that the world is not what it seems...
I find that if I select and copy numerical data into memory on my Android I can use the "paste stack" facility to get it into the (virtual) machine.
If I discover a crowded mess in daily life I put round things together; square things together; long things together.
Space appears.
Perhaps you're ready to sit down with someone who can actively listen to you and help you find out what you really need in life. Quite possibly you'd be a good deal happier doing something else.
Speak truth! If you speak truth to your active listener it might not take long at all.
:)
It might also seem to me a little churlish, to complain toooo much ...
