I don't know, but I can see why some people might think so.
The state should be auditing them prior to using them to see that they work as expected.
But besides self driving I don't agree with the softwareization of cars. Maybe if Tesla made cars in a more traditional way, but they were EVs I would consider them a real option. The single giant screen without any tactile buttons feels cheap and I'm sure is just about cost saving. The whole cybertruck teardown makes it look like the vehicle wasn't well thought out.
Basically everything about Tesla as a company from its actual cars to its CEO which is supposedly leading it does not inspire confidence. When there are so many other well established car companies that take it far more seriously I don't even take Tesla seriously enough as an option to care about their crash test results.
So I don't think there was actually malicious intent and asking people to stop will probably work.
But really this is just pointless semantics. It doesn't matter what it is called it is still a problem.
Personally I would even prefer anything that allows for a Youtube alternative to do better.
If not for the uncertainty around the extremely inflated Tesla stock price due to the lies he has told he would have been ousted years ago. He has no tangible vision of the future and no expertise in anything.
Elon is not just a PR department away from being seen as an acceptable person. He did a Nazi salute for the world to see and most of the world finds him contemptible.
Also the only way manual driving diminishes is if the world invests more into public transportation.
The only thing they have left is the car and they are falling farther and farther behind.
But even in automotive they pivoted to working with car OEMs instead of relying on sale of independent devices.
For example there are emergency systems or local governments that announce information on Twitter. These feel like serious organizations to me. At minimum I feel like they should be in multiple places and not just Twitter.
I feel like the ideal is to have a population with a near perfect 2 - 2.1 replacement rate with a socio-economic performance that allows for the fewest people in poverty and then for that to continue forever.
Perhaps this is the first time in history that most of the world has reached its population limits and since we overshot it, it is now attempting to correct and will come to an equilibrium eventually.
But I am extremely skeptical that current "AI" will be capable of eliminating so much of the modern workforce any time soon if ever. I can see it becoming a common place tool, maybe it already has, but not as a human replacement.
