iwritecode··on What a stupid idea
I still do this - it's something I'm actively trying to fix. I'm worse still when products never materialize into a full-fledged success, still seem mvp/alpha but provide enough interest and income to spin up a proper shop here and there.

I think the root of it, for me at least, is just a bit of envy staring down at me from my shelf of half-completed and less interesting ideas.

iwritecode··on Ask HN: An Ad Industry Primer?
I thought this might be the case. Thanks for the insight - I've been trying to just read as much as I can. I'll spend some time with adexchanger.
iwritecode··on Ask HN: An Ad Industry Primer?
The question is this: I'm seeking someone or something to validate my naive and nascent understanding of a seemingly complex and somewhat opaque host of concepts and patterns that the industry leverages for delivering ads. A list of terms and an acronyms is far, far away from an understanding of how things work or work together optimally.

Maybe most people just use dfp but I'm guessing that a number of publishing oriented startups and new businesses are having to learn and grapple with this stuff - was hoping to learn a bit from the collective

She's done plenty of writing herself of late. I'm turning to the community that I know and understand and that I knew would be a valuable resource for feedback.

This is where my head was on this whole undertaking. I assumed that the people she'd engage with would immediately see the potential in the individual - not whether or not the intersection of the resume and job description was a 100% match.

Confluence of events really made it natural to leave the job. But agreed on principle - I don't think I've ever quit a job to find a new one before...

Agreed. We've been talking about this. She's had to shape her resume a few different ways based on the type of job she's applying for to highlight specific experience relevant to the particular position but it still hasn't yielded much. I dont' know if it's the resume so much as not knowing the right people/perosn in an org to vouch for her even if she applies for something 'out of band' so to speak.

"If that's the best idea for a day, that day goes into the No Work Done On Job Search column."

+ 1 - wonderfully put. Thank you.
