isaisabella··on The IBM-ification of Google?
Why not Oracle
isaisabella··on Everything Google announced at I/O 2026: Gemini, Android, more
Hope Gemini 3.5 Pro could be better
isaisabella··on Regex Chess: A 2-ply minimax chess engine in 84,688 regular expressions
You've mentioned that the initial version needs 30 mins for a step, but after the optimization, it decreases to seconds. I was wondering what optimization like \n could give such a huge improvement? Like what does it do?
isaisabella··on Show HN: Haystack – Review the PRs that need human attention
Let AI review the code written by AI? interesting...
isaisabella··on We let AIs run radio stations
guys your favorite stations are not replaced by AI. We have to take it that now fewer and fewer people listen to radio station and they can't afford keep running...
isaisabella··on Show HN: Files.md – Open-source alternative to Obsidian
Seems like what Obsidian is like initially. Hope this won't be another Obsidian in the future.
isaisabella··on I don't think AI will make your processes go faster
yeah, the time on a single round of coding might decrease, but vibe coding also needs extra time on prompt engineering, and it may also requires many more rounds of refinement. In total it is not economic.
isaisabella··on GenCAD
The demo seems pretty cool, but also pretty simple. When it comes to complicate models, I afriad it would be hard to generate the accurate 3D model.
isaisabella··on MacBook Neo Deep Dive: Benchmarks, Wafer Economics, and the 8GB Gamble
I take Max Neo as a toy computer. Maybe a good choice for those non-tech users, cuz it's enough for they daily use: writing docs, watching videos, etc. A good marketing product.
isaisabella··on Princeton mandates proctoring for in-person exams, upending 133 year precedent
Wait, Princeton NEVER have faculty proctoring exams??? Really shocks me but is reasonable for the ivy league. Nowadays, academic integrity is indeed a problem. Almost all students are using AI in their assignments, though it violates the honor code.
isaisabella··on EU to crack down on TikTok, Instagram's 'addictive design' targeting kids
Actually I don't think these regulations can prevent kids from using social media if they REALLY want to. For example, in China, kids under 18 are not allowed to play video games by requiring facial verification. However, many kids will ask their grandparents to do the verification. So indeed it's not preventing anyone.
isaisabella··on Show HN: Needle: We Distilled Gemini Tool Calling into a 26M Model
Nice catch. Using agent for simple tasks is inefficient and wasteful, Needle really resolves this. Looking forward to future upgrades!
isaisabella··on Ask HN: How are you preparing for interviews nowadays?
SWE internship, but the team is focusing on machine learning
isaisabella··on If AI writes your code, why use Python?
Really agree. Python is popular because it's easy for human to implement. But now if the coder becomes AI, then Rust would be preferable for agent, just like Python for human. In addition, it brings better performance.
isaisabella··on Ask HN: How are you preparing for interviews nowadays?
Maybe AI-assisted coding? I just interviewed with Amazon and they are quite looking on how you use AI to finish a task with a wide scope. Leetcode is not the main part now though.
isaisabella··on Running local models on an M4 with 24GB memory
I'd rather spend thousands dollars on a Mac than subscribing API. The local model allows me to do my work any time and anywhere, without worrying about privacy leak.
isaisabella··on Phel v0.36.0 – Lisp on PHP, now with numeric tower and first-class Vars
Great work on this release! Glad to see the dot-separated namespace syntax being standardized in the core.
isaisabella··on Show HN: I built an open-source email builder, alternative to Beefree/Unlayer
The migration page is so good. Being stuck in Unlayer is a real thing, and seeing a clear path out makes this much more tempting to adopt.
isaisabella··on Show HN: PHP-fts – Full-text search engine in pure PHP, no extensions
Great start! This bridge between LIKE and a full-blown engine is exactly what's needed for the PHP long-tail.
