The blog post it's about last night and what I call CDT - call for Docker Tutorial.
One of the ideas we had last night was to do an open request for the Docker tutorial you would like to see.
Scary!
Thing is that neither twitter nor facebook do anything to prevent children using their networks, you know, data is very important, specially that data.
I think that your idea of "soon" is very different from the rest of the world.
To bring the 20% rule back takes 1 minute: one email sent to everybody that says just that.
At the end of the day, the "Who to follow" box indicates that the more connections each node has, the better.
Like a Tech2Biz dictionary or something like that.
Not really true, there were a few who said they were running Docker in Prod, but yes, the majority was not production-ready just yet
No cookies? no way of tracking.
Or if you want to see it like this, they are getting something standard and turning it into something that it's under their control.
Because docker removes all the trouble of running applications that you need for your development: databases, application servers, queues...
I love the fact that I can focus on my code and not on all those details that stole so much of my time.
Keep up and good luck ;)
I agree that "from the distance" it might seem possible to run docker on top of OSX or even Windows, because, you know, it's not only about the LXC but the deltas. This is something that many non-linux people ask me "why not in OSX if it's based on..." and they are right... somehow.
I disagree because we know how different the 3 systems are and we know that they cannot come up with a standard for something as simple as CSS much less they will arrive to define a common "LXC" interface.
It is not about other kernels offering similar features, but kernels having the same common interface. As I said, it would be great, but it won't happen.
State happens in the client, requests to the backend come with pre-conditions.
It's clear to me that the second point: "Reduce Friction At Every Turn" doesn't apply to customers.
