> There is no board/calendar that would get the attention of thousands of people

What makes you think that? Google/chatbots need a crawlable source. Instagram content is not a crawlable source. Be that crawlable source and they'll send the traffic your way. I get thousands of monthly visitors from Google alone. The next step in the funnel is to make them sign up for a weekly newsletter.

I'd also suggest a giant "purchase ticket here" button on every event page and measuring how many people click on it, it's infinitely easier to approach the organisers when you can easily whip out that statistic on your phone.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

No seriously, like 18 months ago I solved this exact issue in my corner of the world by simply creating a static website and putting them there on a calendar and now I'm like a microcelebrity of my own running a "brand" that every organiser knows of.

You'd be happy to know that ICC has also indicted three Hamas leaders (Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, Ismail Haniyeh). Granted all three were withdrawn because their deaths were confirmed, but you're presenting it as if ICC only indicted Israeli leaders, which is not the case.
input_sh··on Woman Arrested, Dragged Away After Speaking About Flock at City Council Meeting
One major difference between being covered with CCTV cameras and what Flock is doing is the CC part of that acronym.
input_sh··on Elektron Machinedrum in the Browser
It's emulating an actual synth by that name that was released in 2001. It's also not a very original name. What's next, The Prodigy being named after Moog's Prodigy?

I'd say at least half of Qwen's 2026 runs are animated.

The only other one I've spotted is animated is Gemini 3.0's 2025 run of an elephant.

input_sh··on XCancel service is suspended until further notice
Sure, it definitely didn't happen in the wake of its new owner feeling like it in one of his first major changes to the platform because of his "concerns" with bot traffic.

Luckily, he won that fight, and nowadays nobody thinks of bots when thinking of X, The Everything App.

Well, that's one way to market reaching a plateau.
input_sh··on google.com/goto: Google's anti-scraping update
I mean, if I were to accuse any search engine of an astroturfing campaign on HN, I'd certainly not pick Yandex over Kagi.

How is bringing down the whole power grid in any particular country an extinction level event? I'm pretty sure that even in the worst case scenario it would be like a month of chaos in one particular part of the world at most, hardly something that would have a long-lasting impact on the humankind's ability to survive at large.

If the answer is "they'd at least try to nuke the country that did it in response", then once again, LLMs are not the main threat.

input_sh··on New York Times and The Athletic workers demand company scrap Kalshi deal
I'm guessing it'll be something like the CNN deal where basically every story about elections would include "according to predictions on Kalshi..."
input_sh··on Making the Internet Boring
I'm one of those that instinctively types the letter "y", presses the down arrow, then enter, and goes straight to the subscriptions page.

Unfortunately, I now have to scroll through the "most relevant" section, then through shorts, and only then do I reach the videos in the chronological order. What I also hate is how when a channel I usually engage with uploads a video I have no interest in, then it's stuck on top of my subscription page in that "most relevant" section for like a week.

input_sh··on Trade (and Tariffs)
Booking.com literally is classified as a VLOP (very large online platform) under DSA: https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/policies/list-desig...

It's also not the only European company to be designated as VLOP, as you'll find some EU-based adult content sites on that page as well, but if you really want a European company that is inexplicably missing from this list, I'd go with Spotify.

input_sh··on How I use LLMs to learn complex topics
If only Wikipedia contained like an easier-to-digest version of Wikipedia, using planer language: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA

I just asked Opus to "explain DNA to me in simple language" and the two are not even in the same league in terms of quality.

input_sh··on Discovery Loop
The new Bootstrap, but somehow even shittier as the content itself is also bland and only vaguely matches the subject. Might as well put lorem ipsum in there, it's just as "informative".
input_sh··on U.S. used 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during Iran war
This isn't WW1, not a lot of experience is necessary to point a missile or a drone towards the target.
input_sh··on I don't recommend Tailwind CSS
My counter-argument: I can copy any cool-looking Tailwind element I find on the Internet into my own project and it'll look exactly the same.
input_sh··on Google has abandoned Google News?
"Slowly dying" implies it's some sort of a natural process they have no control over, that's not what's happening. It's committing suicide, on purpose.

It's a modern-day burning of the Library of Alexandria in favour of a shitty replacement. It's what we get for offloading such a basic web function in the hands of a private company that's just no longer interested in serving that basic function.

input_sh··on Google has abandoned Google News?
No, Google knows very well about each and every older source, it just refuses to show them.

Here, I can easily prove it: search for something like "site:theguardian.com" and set the date filter to show you results before say 1/1/2020. I guarantee you you won't find a single news article within search results. You will find other pages from their site such as tag pages or old job postings of theirs and what not, but no news article what so ever. Then swap The Guardian for whichever news source you want and do the same.

Then do the same on say DuckDuckGo and it'll work as intended.

input_sh··on Dubious research tied to Red Bull has shaped energy drink policy
Whenever I stumble upon articles such as this one, I always just mentally swap the words energy drink with "two coffees and a multivitamin" (or even "one coffee and a multivitamin" if we're talking about a Red Bull) and then the whole article just seems silly.
input_sh··on Toot.community is shutting down
I picked the only instance I know that actually charges its users an insignificant amount ($20/year), thinking it'd give me some sense of security that it won't just go away one day. I've been paying for it for 3 years in a row without a second thought about it.

Anyways, on Aug 1st their pricing is increasing to $50/year (150% increase!) and now I'm far less convinced that the value it offers is worth the money.

input_sh··on Stolen Buttons
Too bad they're just static, as the website doesn't copy the hover state or the on-click animations.
input_sh··on IRGC claims it destroyed Amazon's Bahrain data center
After this strike, the only AWS region in the ME that remains operational is the one in Tel Aviv (a bit ironic if you ask me).

UAE has been down for months, Bahrain is now offline, Saudi Arabia is still under construction.

input_sh··on Cheap self-hosted Kubernetes on Hetzner cloud (2025)
I wanted to compare the prices to the current prices:

> That puts us up to €26,97 a month on our six machines so far.

The cost for this same calculation has risen to €41,94 for the exact same configuration (3x CX23, 3x CX33).

> These two additional load balancers (lb11) bump up the price with €5.39/mo.

lb11 is now €7,49 x 2 = €14,98

> A public IP address costs €1,70/mo which adds an additional €10,20

According to Hetzner's pricing page, this is now free on CX23, but costs an additional €0,50 on CX33.

> ...making our total €47,95/mo pre-VAT

€41,94 + €14,98 + €1,50 = €58,42, or roughly a 22% increase. Still over €10 cheaper than the prices the article quotes for a managed cluster on AWS/GCP, but as someone that does this for a living, €10-15 extra is a very negligible price to pay to avoid the amount of headaches you'll get by having to manage and upgrade the cluster yourself.
