indubioprorubik··on Britain today generating 90%+ of electricity from renewables
As you denindustrialize, your normal working class population rebells - demanding its lifestyle to remain untouched- thus subsidized by the state. So the state either prints money costing the world (us-model) or it prints money- costing the future. As this happens and future generations get poorer- the idea to lend from foreign "investors" which then take over your country becomes the default solution - until you are a debt colony, owned by those lending you money.
indubioprorubik··on Britain today generating 90%+ of electricity from renewables
And thats not how good renewables are- thats how deindustrialized britain has become. And deindustrialization leads to debt slavery - and debt slavery either leads to passing on that bitter chalice to others (empire) or to becoming a colony.

Pakistan invests in chinese air -defenses- gets steamrolled by india. Iran buys chinese air-defenses- gets steamrolled by Israel and the Us. Russia claimed the s400 was all the rage- and its going nowhere in ukraine. If propaganda claims where a currency, could you buy anything with all this?
indubioprorubik··on Epic Games to cut more than 1k jobs as Fortnite usage falls
Valve wants a boat that is independent of microsoft. Not to go down with that Tit.A.I.nic seems like a smart move.
indubioprorubik··on Epic Games to cut more than 1k jobs as Fortnite usage falls
Well, you goto be good nowadays, you compete against the whole worlds dreamy eyed teeangers wanting to make "their"game. A wellfunded, pig-trough-slop-mill ala hollywood can not compete against that when it comes to fun, art and experiences. They fled into gambling, but gamers actively ostracize lootboxers nowadays.
indubioprorubik··on The US Is Demonstrating That It Cannot Oppose China
I have heard so many of these thunderous, self-assured statements. Russia can not loose, the caliphate of allah can not be defeated, the third reich will last a thousand years, the empire of japan will prevail. The USSR is superior, produces more of everything and better- the landscapes beyond the iron curtain are blooming. History books are filled to the brim with them.

And then the the bells tongue hits the bell- and reality comes crawling back, while the same empty statements ring on and on, ever more hollow. Words are cheap and posters are easy. But reality to make itself heard.

If the underlying problem, that caused the century of humiliation has not been fixed, it can happen again. China needs the world more, than the world needs china. If manufacturing can not be exported, it goes elsewhere in a hurry. Vietnam, India, Brazil, the world is filled with countries, that will happily shoulder what china does now.

The british empire comes to mind. Could it win a war against germany? Yes and yes. Was it a phyric victory, that ultimately rang in the end of the old empires. Also yes. War can be a game that has only loosers, the only winning move is not to play.

indubioprorubik··on I'm OK being left behind, thanks
I use AI not for what the various fraudsters hype it for. It utterly fails coding what i want each time. But it is a great tool to create things and not be censored/hindered by collaboration with humans. It liberates the lone nutters of the world to make music, create movies, do things, which society desperately tried to stop them from. Just because new things are frightening and money shies away from risk like the devil from holy water. Look at all those sequels. Each sequel in existence murdered a dozen artists hopes to create something new.

A ton of it is garbage. But 1/1000 gets to realize a vision, that could never be marketed, never be discovered and is something new entirely. For that i love it and thank those who made it..

indubioprorubik··on Office.eu launches as Europe's sovereign office platform
The problem is that the Oslo world is deeply encoded into the DNA of the European union and its elites. The very goal of "restoring" the old world is what they have in mind. The moment that goal seems to even just return as a hallucination, they will drop all of these initiatives and defect. Everyone knows, so nobody even tries to get something real built.

With the university who trained these politicians, with the institutions who shaped them, with these politicians who created this multi-crisis - believing everyone out there was invested in a stable world as they were- a independent Europe is not possible. They just have to much hackable surface, to much API, they will crawl before any hacker offering them a way "back out" with the decades to come.

indubioprorubik··on Making Video Games in 2025 (without an engine)
Then again,UE5 has massive criticism leveraged against it- for pushing exotic and hyped up technology, that is not really production ready and demands you tailor your whole workflow around them. Held against last gen custom engines - ue5 almost always looks worse.

indubioprorubik··on Judge finalizes order for Greenpeace to pay $345M in ND oil pipeline case
Nah, its one source of funding. The oil giants pump there money in bonkers oppossition- one Greta Thunberg glueing herself to a public street does more damage to that cause then the whole of counter propaganda ever could. And it prevents the debate about resonable measures like free public transport.
indubioprorubik··on Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is killed in Israeli strike, ending 36-year rule
Islamic societies seem to be unable to form stable institutions. The recipe seems to be unable to synthesize this, no matter how many ressources are available and how benign the conditions. As a result the biggest formable state-institution remains the family clan and the family clan just does not cut it in preventing civil war. At best you get a clan-coalition masquerading as a military government with some democratic pets - at worst you get libya. But i guess after 52 countries, the results are in and the fact that other - non western powers are colonizing islamic countries now (china, russia) and everyone is scrambling for nukes post trump - the displayed weaknesses could end the region.
indubioprorubik··on Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is killed in Israeli strike, ending 36-year rule
Maybe .. the revolutionary guard is fed up though with ineffective empire rule? Like to be rubbed in the dirt face first repeatetly as inheritor of the mighty persian empire sucks bad enough, to reconsider the way things are run? Sorry, but whatever israel & the us are doing, seems to work way better than - whatever has happened the last decades in iran?
indubioprorubik··on A War Foretold
Yes, a whole paradigma and the politicians who grew up on the failed soil of a "utopia" around the corner, ignoring all the signs, should step back into the void of history instead of rotting away in office, hopeing in every sentence that the "good times" will return any minute now. They are clearly unfit to handle reality or even percieve it.
indubioprorubik··on A War Foretold
He removed his own teeth through years of inaction and got dependent on the deliveries from his "dealer". How is he responsible for his lack of bite and his anbility to cut ties?

Europe also has nuclear weapons directly and indirectly. The uk, the us and france should have donated one too Kjiev!

indubioprorubik··on A War Foretold
I find it increddible, that almost the whole personal that allowed putin to wage this war, is still in some ways in office and power in europe. What happened to disgraced figures stepping back, to give the new and capable a chance to recover ? Steinmeier, Van der Leyen, the posts change and become more honorific, but with such a legacy of ashes, who would want to stay at the press conference?

indubioprorubik··on Dan Simmons, author of Hyperion, has died
The clean slate of banks - where we discarded culture to embrace the "culture" and look where this "winging" it got us. Turns out the operating system of a society is important- and the atheist distilled synthetic one is not really working - same goes for alot of others.

The utopist urge for cultural tabula rasa is a retardation, a attempt of the brain to shirk embracing and discovering complexity. One has to look at the "backwards" parts to start to understand what works in a society and with the actual human beeings lifing in a actual society, not the wingless Star Trek Angels in PJs.

Embrace complexity, embrace analysis, build something without defining the endstate first. Make small things that work, combine them into bigger things that work. Way less calling for cullings of the "sabotaging traitors" as they are usual with utopists on the march.

indubioprorubik··on US plans online portal to bypass content bans in Europe and elsewhere
Look at the state of affairs that swept a cretin like trump into power, the us was rotting away ever since 1990, it needed external competition, that threatened the social fabric to stay stable. Now every utopist living in play pretend land can declare his reality absolut and ignore all the piled up problems.

indubioprorubik··on Improving 15 LLMs at Coding in One Afternoon. Only the Harness Changed
My guess always was that - if you took the source of training data- meaning the authors of the "best" answers and solutions on stackoverflow or github- and got the question reformatted, to sound like it was created by these experts- the created code, would try to hug these sources of truth while getting created.

So, the challenge is actually to find a map of "problem" to "author" and then from "author" to "related code" and from their to a solution.

But some cultures try to better themselves and some cant even do that- with all the money in the world.

PS: The west - is no longer important though, the middle east is going to blow itself up, the far-east is where the futuri is at.

indubioprorubik··on Man, 83, tricked by scammers, gets 21 years to life for killing Uber driver
And every scam across borders is a flyer for nationalism, isolationist politics and a cold shower to multiculturalism - as it shows the prevalence of "scams" beeing different and socially accepted beeing very different in different cultures. And when scamming the elderly can be socially accepted career in a society, the opinion of the affected on that society will corelate.
