I should've posted it before!
Work in progress: https://github.com/Cloud-CV/cvfy-frontend
It is a platform to build pipelines to showcase machine learning models on the web. You select input components, output components, and use the cvfy-lib python client to connect all these.
This API has to enabled explicitly. Docker daemon works by using a unix socket instead ( "/var/run/docker.sock" ).

There is Docker daemon and there is Docker CLI. Both have separate scopes.
Edit: My viewpoint was focused more on the composability aspect of containers. But I stand corrected otherwise.
What does HN suggest for configuration files (to be written by a human essentially)?
I am looking at YAML and TOML. My experience with JSON based config files was horrible.
You make it sound like the signal was lost in between somewhere :)

Can you give an example of this?
I have worked on fairly complex Redux applications but have never ever mutated states and it has been just fine. In fact, I use ImmutableJS to keep my apps' states.
State machines without immutability in a large application sounds like a joke to me, sorry.
Even if you consider JS a bad language, proper abstractions can change the face of it entirely. By your logic, assembly is also bad since it is absurd to write anything useful in it. IMO Elm is a step in the right direction.
The key with React is that you manipulate JS instead of HTML. In my experience, using JS to manipulate elements turns out to be easier and a much better experience than the conventional way of using templates.
