Next is getting rid of all the supplements that don't work for anything they're advertised for.

That would be all of them.

In reality, a liberal bribing policy to get business done, to protect profits and increase margins, along with a solid policy to push wages down and reduce the workforce is what's best for every country... at least for the ones who pull the strings in said country.

Probably the cooling fan not running. The cold air doesn't circulate so the drain line freezes up and overflows into the refrigerator. It's not hard to replace yourself or a repair guy can probably do it for around $200 parts and labor.

imnotlost··on Record Numbers of Americans Want to Leave the U.S
The US health care system is a very well run billing machine with average (compared to other developed nations) health outcomes as a lucky side-effect.

I pay $6000+/year in health insurance in the US + deductibles + co-pays + + + and I don't even know if they'll cover me when shit really hits the fan - but hey, I'll get a flu shot "for free".

Check profit margins for companies in the health care space, they're pretty good.

I'm almost certainly in the database.

So I have to get a new passport, get a new phone number, get a new credit card, change my email address... in the US, can I sue in small claims court to recover the costs of doing these things?

I've rewritten fairly large systems and re-integrated them faster than I could ever have understood the original code.

I don't think React is in that category though, I think the concepts are understandable, the documentation is good, and StackOverflow is helpful.

I implemented a small React app while learning it which is in production and running just fine.

Here you are, after making some mistakes and behaving very badly, the State has full control of you.

They then limit how much you can communicate with normal people.

They are complicit in you being exploited financially.

They look the other way if you are physically or sexually abused.

When you've served your time no one will hire you and you're limited from interacting with society normally.

And we, society, think this is just great! Which ticker can I buy to get in on this action?

Dystopia is here, it's just not evenly distributed yet.

imnotlost··on Should computer science researchers disclose negative social consequences?
One shouldn't constrain development, once the genie is out of the bottle someone will develop it, whatever it is.

These considerations should be taken into account when technology is used, sometimes by policy makers in government.

There's no way industry will police itself, they've proven time and again that profit is far more important that humans.

> Times of nothingness are great for original thinking, creativity and learning, maybe some people just can't do it.

Blueprint sucks balls, it's super slow at runtime, it's slow to create logic, and it makes your game code unmaintainable and almost impossible to reason about. Not to mention you can't diff changes.

PlayMaker for Unity has the same problems.

Friends don't let friends use tools like that.

Which American city, if any, plans for anything close to that time scale?

Seems like every city, county, state, etc. screw up planning on less than human time scales - pensions and infrastructure maintenance for instance.

The judging is for his/her own benefit and doesn't really have anything to do with the object.

"I'm a little bit better than that person because I can take an elevator ride without looking at my phone"

"Our relationship is better than theirs because we can get through dinner without looking at our phones"
