Plus, that battery.. ehh..
HumanFirst is advancing remote patient monitoring by enabling the safe and effective use of connected sensors at home. We help clinical trial coordinators determine the right tool to use & establish a way for them to deploy the products into the field! We’ve closed a Series A [0] last year and are rapidly growing the team to build out the next iterations of our products!
We’re currently looking for more awesome Humans to join us across software engineering, product management, research, and more. We have a deep commitment as a team to always improve communication. Every team member has a user guide (check out mine [1]) and a personal tour of duty.
Our tech stack is Typescript, React, NodeJS, and PostgreSQL running in AWS.
You can reach out to me directly about the roles - james[@]gohumanfirst[.]com - I’m happy to chat more about the various roles, our engineering culture, team culture, or whatever! You could also look at our careers page [2].

Sort of. faker.js has an open collective [0] which receives some money each year. However, living off a single open source package - even one widely used like faker - is very difficult even in lower cost of living areas.
Their repo also hasn't seen any commits for about a year now:
This is a bummer but not surprising. There have been a number of outstanding bugs that were never addressed and releases were slowing down - even when github commits were getting backed up.

Most everything else seems to be the same thing as if you ran with EKS, just different names for everything.
Setting it up yourself, though, no, I wouldn't do that unless I had a large enough team to maintain it.

It includes quotes from people such as this:
> I think most local white dudes > don't think of a prototype as something they "funded". They > ”just made it” because they had > time, space and hardware.
Generally, refers to hidden privilege throughout as subtext. If you're white and male you have more access to these kinds of opportunities, etc.
Dealing with BC breaks for versions you aren't intending to run in production seems like unnecessary overhead.
If any match those strings it's flagged for a review.
This is more or less legally required for any company that moves money in the United States of America. You will probably find the same issues with the same terms on any other banking for financial body.
Technically, these aren't being blocked. They're being audited. The payments will still go through. The way this is taking place is following very specific legally "known good" pathways - so that when paypal does accidentally let a payment through to a sanctioned entity they are able to argue that they took every available precaution and should not have to pay the $250k per transaction fine.
The last time PayPal had to pay these fines - for example - it was ~$7m. That's not including legal fees. https://fcpablog.com/2015/03/27/ofac-fines-paypal-77-million...
Log in with Corp acme. Log in with palantir. Log in with Facebook (Corp). Log in with Facebook (end user)... Etc.
You'd have to iterate through every customer with SAML / OIDC set up.
Even if you are just using end user, it's sometimes confusing if there are 10+ options because you have to remember... Ok not only do I gotta remember my email I used, how did I originally sign up? .. was it with Google? With Facebook... No wait did I use email and password...
We're a stealth seed stage company building a social platform for organizers to create stronger ties to their communities - with our first stop being dev communities.
Currently on the look out for software engineers with bias to action in the USA interested in remote work.
You'll be part of a small (but ambitious) team working with NodeJS, CockroachDB, Kafka, Kubernetes, and React Native. This an opportunity to be an early employee, help shape the organization, and grow into leadership roles as we scale. We provide competitive benefits and salary and are dedicated to bring together a diverse and engaged team in an inclusive environment.
Our current Interview Process is pretty straightforward:
* Conversation with technical co-founder.
* Short programming exercise.
* Conversation with the CEO
* Pair programming exercise
* Conversation with another team member
Have questions or just want to chat? Email me with "[HN]" in the subject so I don't miss it - james@notjam.es - and don't let impostor syndrome prevent you from reaching out! I'd be thrilled to talk with you about our awesome startup. :)
