imaginenore··on All 50 startups from Y Combinator’s Summer 2017 Demo Day 1
Find technical cofounders. It's not too late. YC is just one VC company.

And don't be so bitter, it's not VC's fault that you lack technical skills.

imaginenore··on China’s Bitmain dominates Bitcoin mining, wants to cash in on AI
Great book, somewhat unusual sci fi.
imaginenore··on Ellen Pao: My lawsuit failed. Others won’t
What exactly is a "personal attack" here? I posted widely published information. There's even a link.
imaginenore··on All 50 startups from Y Combinator’s Summer 2017 Demo Day 1
You can't opt out while being in public. That's unreasonable.
imaginenore··on All 50 startups from Y Combinator’s Summer 2017 Demo Day 1
Maybe they had more than just an idea?
imaginenore··on Ellen Pao: My lawsuit failed. Others won’t
She couldn't prove sexism in court. Twice now.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pao_v._Kleiner_Perkins

Why would you defend false allegations by Pao? They hurt women that actually do experience it. They also give more evidence to the fact that women do use the system to get rich quick by suing in hopes of getting a massive settlement.

She should be condemned and her claims should not be used to demonstrate sexism, which is what you're trying to do.

Even though you're asking great questions, this is not the place. The mods here are radical liberals, nearly SJWs, I wouldn't be surprised if they delete or shadow-ban your post.
imaginenore··on Libsodium Audit Results
No fuzzing?
imaginenore··on I’m 35 and I may suddenly have lost the rest of my life
Lie, cheat, and steal if you have to. I'd bribe medical staff just to get the best experimental treatments if you can't get there via legal means.
imaginenore··on 130K lost in phishing attack on Bittrex user
How many times do we have to people not to store ridiculous amounts of money on exchanges? It happens over and over again.
imaginenore··on Neo-nazi group moves to 'dark web' after domain registration revoked
I had to look up what it looked like:

https://web.archive.org/web/20170812024002/https://www.daily...

Their disclaimer is interesting:

We here at the Daily Stormer are opposed to violence. We seek revolution through the education of the masses. When the information is available to the people, systemic change will be inevitable and unavoidable.

Anyone suggesting or promoting violence in the comments section will be immediately banned, permanently.

imaginenore··on Big brother is here, and his name is Facebook
What exactly is scary in that scenario? So Google knows that you went somewhere and who your friends are. I don't see a problem.

The actually bad thing would be something like - you watch alt-right YouTube videos, and Google doesn't hire you because of that if you apply for a job. But even that isn't remotely close to the totalitarian government level of oppression, where you get executed for disagreeing with the party line.

Chances are, you are not important, and nobody cares where you go to eat and whoats with you.

imaginenore··on Tesla raises $1.8B
The workers agreed to work for what they are paid, voluntarily. How is it not fair exactly?

If some other company is willing to pay them more, they can go there.

imaginenore··on Coinbase raises $100M Series D led by IVP
1) you don't really know that its value will go up, the past doesn't guarantee the future

2) money itself is useless, people like spending it

3) why would you buy computer/phone today if you can buy it next year for half the price?

imaginenore··on Fired Google engineer files complaint, weighs legal options
> "Half the world's population is unsuitable for technical work because of their gender"

These kind of lies is the core of the problem. You even put quotes around it, yet the guy never wrote anything like that. You just made it up.

imaginenore··on Fired Google engineer files complaint, weighs legal options
Liberals / progressives keep missing the point - silencing your opposition and calling them names only shows how weak your side of the argument is. That's how you get 4 more years of Trump.

Fight bad ideas with better ideas, better arguments.

imaginenore··on The Google Memo: Four Scientists Respond
Good fact-based answers.

But the reaction from the "progressives" is quite telling. Don't they realize that demanding to fire him without refuting his arguments only proves him right?

imaginenore··on Bitcoin: Evidence of spoofing, wash trading, and a scheme known as ‘Tether’
Not only that, he has zero evidence that it's one entity. He has zero evidence that he doesn't let these orders execute.

Bitfinex is the second largest bitcoin exchange, their daily volume is $130 million [1]. $2-4M trades are not anything out of the ordinary.

imaginenore··on New Game of Thrones episode appears in the wild
Only in 480p, I just checked on TPB.

The only good way to watch GoT is in 1080p or more.

imaginenore··on Bitcoin Cash Soars to $700, Coinbase Customers Threaten to Sue
They still have the control over their clients' BCH, just not moving it. They didn't burn anything.
imaginenore··on Bitcoin Cash: Why It's Forking the Blockchain and What That Means
1) It will grow by 1GB/day only if the blocks are full. Which they won't be for a long time, unless that branch becomes much more popular.

2) 8TB drive is $175 on Amazon. That alone can hold ~1 thousand days of full blocks. That's almost 3 years worth of blocks. By then the HDD prices will likely be even lower.

3) If some regular user will want to mess with the whole blockchain (which is such a strange argument, most don't care for it), downloading 8TB of data takes less than 18 hours on a gigabit connection. It will take years to get to 8TB.

4) There's no real objection to SegWit, as long as it comes with the large blocks. But consider what happened with Segwit2X - as soon as Segwit support solidified, a talk of ditching the 2MB extension started, a classic bait and switch. It's all over /r/bitcoin.

imaginenore··on Microsoft Paint to be killed off after 32 years
> Paint just works

That's an exaggeration. It's very limited. There are much more capable free image editors:

* Photo Pos Pro

* Krita

* GIMP or CinePaint

There are also many simple Paint-like options:

* Pinta

* Pixelitor

* PaintStar

* PhotoScape

imaginenore··on Ask HN: What's the worst thing your code has done?
Accidentally removed our corporate ID from the ad code, very high traffic website. So the ads displayed, but we were not getting paid for the clicks. $140K lost in a few hours. At the time that was almost double my yearly salary.

Nobody got fired, because we had a QA team, and their testing procedure didn't test for something like that.

imaginenore··on Gpu.js – GPU Accelerated JavaScript
Notice the ±51.8% in the second benchmark. You probably got unlucky and hit garbage collection, or some other process decided to use the CPU while you were running it.
imaginenore··on Bitcoin – Potential Network Disruption on July 31st
> I don't understand how can any other group of people decide what should happen other than the miners.

How about Bitcoin owners instead? Your vote is proportional to how much you have.

imaginenore··on Seattle City Council unanimously approves income tax for the rich
The ones rich enough can simply move their residence outside, and simply rent wherever.

imaginenore··on Delete Hate Speech or Pay Up, Germany Tells Social Media Companies
This law will absolutely be used to curb political speech, that's the whole point. And you know it will be applied by the ruling party against anybody whose views they don't like.

When you're banning "hate speech" without strictly and narrowly defining what it is, it's a pure censorship instrument with pretty much unlimited reach.

I, for instance, think The Bible and The Quran are full of hate speech, but do you think they should be banned in the whole country simply based on my view?

What about a Android vs iOS debates? Should we ban every shit-talking conversation on the internet?

What about BMW vs Audi? Tabs vs spaces? Chocolate vs vanilla?

imaginenore··on Ask HN: Victim of an unfounded harrasement accusation. Your thoughts?
Talk to a lawyer. I highly doubt your internship will end well there, the way things are going. Do you really expect them to give you a good reference?
imaginenore··on Poverty is not a personal choice, but a reflection of society
By what metric is the US economy bad? I didn't win a lottery, I just finished the state college, then went on to work. I'm making great money. Anybody willing to do that can do it.

My home country doesn't have that option, the salaries are 1/20th of what the US has to offer.
