igorsyl··on F*ck Grad School. I 10 Products in 1 year.
Got demo URLs? Or is this a declaration of a personal challenge?
igorsyl··on Stypi (YC S11) has been acquired by Salesforce
Interesting. How about talking an existing product and reimplementing it? It would be different but not by design. I wonder whether this is a good strategy for a bootstrapped team.
igorsyl··on Stypi (YC S11) has been acquired by Salesforce
I believe Etherpad was open sourced. I suspect there are other reasons why Salesforce went ahead with the buyout. Perhaps licensing?
igorsyl··on Ask HN: How do I get founders/partners?
Where are you located? If you want your cofounders to live near you then I suggest attending meetup and hacking events. If you are open to working remotely, then HN might be a good place to showcase your work and recruit someone to help you with your project.

In any case, any demo--regardless how crude it is--is more valuable than a description of it.

Do you have a demo?

How is Stypi different from Etherpad?
igorsyl··on Uber launches on demand Mariachi band for $100
Is this available in SF only?
igorsyl··on The average Y Combinator company is worth $45.2M
The average of a skewed distribution is a poor measure of the center. I'd be interested in knowing the median and quantiles.
igorsyl··on Is SSN a must to open a merchant account - Stripe preferred?
I believe they don't ask for SSN so it may be the only choice for KaanSoral.

igorsyl··on Per Vices (YC W12) Sets Out To Disrupt Wireless Communications
Does it look like Per Vices' product is similar to Ettus'? Maybe cost being the significant difference?

I am not familiar with the specifics of wifi protocols. Is the wifi protocol fit into the rx/tx burst+processing or RT signal/protocol?

igorsyl··on Per Vices (YC W12) Sets Out To Disrupt Wireless Communications
1. Can the PCI card transmit in any frequency (up to 4GHz)? Is this allowed by the FCC?

2. Wireless protocols are timing sensitive. Can the card load up a program to process signals? Similar to a kernel in a GPU?

igorsyl··on Ask pg: I know the HN algo is secret, but can you explain something to me?
I think the moderators have greater control over content than the ranking algorithm.
igorsyl··on Finding Your Co-founder On...POF.com?
This is a great story! I'm in Chicago too. Care to hang out?
igorsyl··on Kickstarter Sets Off $7 Million Stampede for a Watch Not Yet Made
What would happen if the company fails to deliver the watches? Give a refund? What if the company has no cash left?

igorsyl··on How Stripe thinks about recruiting
My experience is that east coast companies are more upfront about all of this compared to west coast companies.
igorsyl··on How Stripe thinks about recruiting
I'm surprised so much effort was placed on the CTF competition yet it seems little thought was placed on collecting applicant information. The conversion funnel is as weak as its weakest link.

1+ My email has also been ignored. Perhaps this reflects a problem with email. You don't want to send more than one or two emails since it might come off as spammy. But you do want to make sure you're not lost. Maybe there's a need for a email-read notification service similar to Outlook's.
igorsyl··on I made a game in my spare time. With your help, my game can beat Zynga.
I think Hacker News would love to read about how you developed the graphics, music and code for this app.
igorsyl··on Thoughts on “Silent” Browser Upgrades
I wish browsers updated their code without needing to restart. Ksplice made it work for the Linux kernel. Why can't it work for user-space apps?
igorsyl··on Google turns to Detroit for partnerships on self-driving cars
We may not get flying cars but we'll have self-driving cars.
igorsyl··on New social network links ex-terrorists and victims
How does this service screen new members?
igorsyl··on Amazon, Texas Reach Deal to Settle Sales-Tax Spat
I hope Illinois learns from this.
igorsyl··on Craigslist blocking Airbnb.com
Try using an URL shortener such as http://bit.ly
igorsyl··on Ask HN: Code worth reading
I recommend reading the source code of Linux command line utilities and continuing with the kernel source code.
igorsyl··on Ask HN: How to expand in China?
Good luck!
igorsyl··on Andreessen Horowitz to give half their earnings to charity
Should there be a charity helping struggling entrepreneurs?
igorsyl··on Ask HN: Why is compiling C/C++ so slow compared to Java?
My experience is that slow-compiling projects tend to have bloated header files. The C/C++ pre-processor needs to apply #define's and friends before it touches source files. Java compilers don't suffer from this problem because the Java spec doesn't have support for header files.
igorsyl··on Ask HN: How to expand in China?
Neither. I did not mean to be sarcastic. Perhaps they can feature your website in their blog or they can refer you to a site visited by ex-pats. They could even provide you with Chinese marketing knowledge in exchange for a equity or a fee or for free. I'm just brainstorming all of this.
