Yeah, I have a rule in my agents MD that essentially says the code doesn't need a comment because it should be readable. And ask me in the exceptionally rare instances where it needs a summary or a comment. I am a Ruby and JavaScript developer, so I suppose that is a lot more readable than some other languages, but broadly, I've found code summaries and code comments to not be necessary if the code is very elegantly written.
I have witnessed this happen before. This was approximately ten years ago, but we had a similar thing, a new hire team building exercise. And during it, one of the new hires told a story about how they saved money by taking loads of reams of paper and stuff home from their old office in order to save money. And they were let go during the lunch break. I still feel a bit sorry for them, but I guess saying out loud you were happy to steal stationery didn't go down very well, so it makes sense, but still, it was such a tiny mistake for a 20-year-old. I wasn't in charge of management at the time, but I think I'd have just taken him aside and explained how bad it sounded.
This was so nauseating to read. It could just be stripped down so much, the problem is the content is quite good and then it's just full of this AI fluff. ...
"Read it again." - "Now the fun part." - "Short file, huge payoff. Keep it tight." - "The file isn't a knowledge base, it's a guardrail"
Also the Specific-day + specific-number + reveal format of sentences as well.
"Read it again." - This is the worst one, as if I didn't read it the first time. I do not think I have ever been told to read a code snippet again at the end of it.
"a different kind of force multiplier" - make it stop!!!
My friend was in a similar situation, and what he did was just went on Meetup and Facebook and searched for groups for things that he was into. Two of those groups were white collar boxing and open mic nights. I had no idea he was lonely before. He was my friend. If you filled one day of your week with a social group in the evening and then another day of the week with another social group. And eventually you feel like you're doing enough things. And you'll end up being your friend. I only meet mine once a month outside of those, but it's still really nice. Also, if you do join any social groups, you'll find yourself going to the pub afterwards.
As an aside, one of my very nice family members like tarot card reading, and I think you'd get an extremely different answer for - "What's moon plus sun?" - something like I would guess as they're opposites - "Mixed signals or insecurity get resolved by openness and real communication." - It's kind of fascinating, the range of answers to that question. As a couple of other people have mentioned, it could mean loads of things. I thought I'd add one in there.
This is going to sound very basic, but did you do it in a blank repo or did you use the cloned integration in Xcode, or a third thing I'm not thinking of?
This is a great idea, however, for the voice dictation app. They're very hard to get right, and the quality varies across them massively. I've tried both Wisper Flow and Aqua (the one I'm typing this with, which is, in my opinion, the best at the moment) - they're so exceptionally sophisticated that I think it would be very difficult to get right in a short amount of time.
This is going to sound strange, but I simply must decorate a few rooms. I seem to be so obsessive about selecting exactly the right thing in there in case it's wrong. I can't seem to select anything at all. If I carry on like this, I'm going to go another 10 years living in essentially an empty room with a bed in it.
Hey there Boris from the Claude Code team! Thanks for these tips! Love Claude Code, absolutely one of the best pieces of software that has ever existed. What I would absolutely love is if the Claude documentation had examples of these because I see time and time again people saying what to do in the case you tell us to update the Claude MD with things that it gets wrong repeatedly but it's very rare to have examples just three or four examples of something gets got wrong, and then how you fixed it would be immensely helpful.
There really should be a law around being able to access and review locked accounts. I've seen so many cases of people just losing their digital lives because of an automated system.
Because I'm apparently a billion years old, I still use Sublime Text and just text editor. If I do switch, it will be to this. However, is it as responsive? Do file changes just appear if I change them elsewhere in like terminal?
I have to say, i love this. The name is fantastic and the whole concept. It's got a very Game of Life or Monopoly feel where you've just taken the fundamentals of something in society and turned it into a game instead of adding an additional story on top. I really like it.
My one comment would be, I think you need to change the branding a little bit. It's a bit too close to Magic the Gathering, and this feels like its own IP and can stand on its own legs. So I think you need to just adjust the cards enough so they don't instantly read as a Magic the Gathering card.
If the author is reading this, then I feel like it would be great if you could potentially open source your skills and Claude MD in a redacted way so these are actually viewable. The problem with a lot of these tutorials is, if I can call it a tutorial, is that we never get to see the actual skills or the Claude MD themselves, just a description of it.
On a side note, does anybody have a good cookie consent blocker, pop-up blocker for Firefox? I uninstalled "I don't care about cookies" since he got taken over by a mysterious third party.
Did not realise this was a third party company until i read here, I'm very surprised they're allowed to get that close to the branding without an infringement.
Yet again that recommended sleep aid application is a £24.00 a year subscription. I'd have paid £35 for a one off, but alas, I'll read the comments and figure it out another way. I'm so sick of subscription everything.
There is, they outline it in this video. It looks like there are three ways to turn it off: high contrast, reduced motion, and frostier glass. So it looks like there's just a way to have a full basic icon with just the icon and the outline and a white background.
I’ve been using this for some time and I have to say it is fantastic. I’m intentionally not writing this with Aqua but by hand and it is taking so much longer. This to me feels like what Apple Intelligence could be, it is so much better than stuff all of the big tech is doing. For example, if you tell Siri voice dictation to go back and delete something what Siri will do is just write out “go back and delete something“ also if you tell Siri to go back and spell a name differently all Siri will do is write out the letters that you said to go back and type out. Honestly, for voice dictation software it feels like travelling to another planet in terms of improvement.
I don't know if Ahrendts is in this category she did transform Burberry into a high-end luxury online sales+retail company. She really was the exact opposite of the old head of the Currys boss, John Browett. I think she was responsible for how the Apple Watch is sold. For example, trying it on and having that experience. It's a tricky thing to get right, and I think she's got it spot on. Also, the watch strap business must have one of the highest margins ever, and I feel like she must be in part responsible for those sales and how you try on the straps. That Apple Store feels a lot like going into a Burberry where you can just experience stuff and people are happy to talk to you about anything and not try and sell you anything, so I'm not sure she should be in the category of everyone else you have here because in that respect, the stores do feel very good.
