iddan··on Show HN: AgentAPI – HTTP API for Claude Code, Goose, Aider, and Codex
Was just looking for something like this in the past few days
iddan··on Leaked data reveals Israeli govt campaign to remove pro-Palestine posts on Meta
Calling for the annihilation of the Jewish people is not being supportive of peace in Palestine. These students are not innocent.
iddan··on Leaked data reveals Israeli govt campaign to remove pro-Palestine posts on Meta
Easily overlooking the holocaust, the farhud and the pogroms. Israel was founded because Jewish people were not safe without a state.
iddan··on Show HN: I built an app to generate story relationships using Mermaidjs
could be cool to have pride and prejudice in the examples in the main page
iddan··on No Pay, No Work; Early Career Lessons
In some places of the world this is an offence you can get sued for and end paying a lot more than the original sum.
iddan··on I'm Peter Roberts, immigration attorney who does work for YC and startups. AMA
You are deliberately ignoring the fact that Hamas, and their supporters chant “death to America” and hold AMERICAN CITIZENS under captivity. This is no the same
iddan··on Cursor told me I should learn coding instead of asking it to generate it
I’m 10 years in software and was never bothered to remember how to implement it the efficient way and I know many programmers who don’t know even the inefficient way but kick ass.

I once got that question in an interview for a small startup and told the interviewer: with all due respect what does that have to do with the job I’m going to do and we moved on to the next question (still passed).

iddan··on SQL pipe syntax available in public preview in BigQuery
This is such an improvement. Can’t wait for it to get into Postgres
iddan··on MillenniumDB: Property graph and RDF engine, still in development
Systems like Apache Jena are not production ready for anything serious. It makes total sense to start something different
iddan··on Webtop – Alpine,Ubuntu,Fedora, and Arch containers containing full desktop envs
Back when I was in middle school in Israel the system used for communication between teachers students and parents was called Webtop. They actually went all the way to implement OS desktop experience in the browser (this is long long ago) it was very silly but cute
iddan··on Writing as Transformation
Do we? As examined in The Little Prince, people can get nutritions from pills and powders, factually humanity has made a culture out of food, much more than just getting nutritious
iddan··on I am rich and have no idea what to do
Probably not gonna get upvoted but I’m pretty surprised none of the the top comments mentions volunteering or philanthropy. I believe people who get lucky should land a hand in making the world a better place. We are facing huge crises (climate change to name one) and as a wealthy individual you have both the time to spend helping to fix that and the fortune to donate. Being a smart wealthy individual just makes everything more valuable
iddan··on TSMC's Arizona Plant to Start Making Advanced Chips
Rome was not built in a day. I think it’s a stepping stone for that
iddan··on JSON parsers that can accept comments
It's already invented and JSON w Comments is a lot simpler than JSON5 to parse
iddan··on RFC 35140: HTTP Do-Not-Stab (2023)
Excellent satire. Really drives the point home. I think it's hard sometimes to understand just how much forces of bad use paper trail to push their agenda. This outlines this really well
iddan··on Sin taxes are suffering from a shortage of sinners
tax porn to fund the recovery of victims of the sex industry
iddan··on A React Renderer for Gnome JavaScript
A few years back I wished there were such things when I tried building for Gnome.
iddan··on Launch HN: FlyCode (YC S22) – Stop losing revenue due to failed payments
To give another point of view on this: many times there are essential services I use and I just forget to update my credit card after switching it or for some reason the charge didn’t pass. I would much rather get proper emails (or even better to have the charge recovered) than losing the service
iddan··on Launch HN: FlyCode (YC S22) – Stop losing revenue due to failed payments
Revenue recovery is such a big problem for subscription based businesses and honestly I don’t know many companies who have the capacity to handle it properly, let alone devote engineering efforts for this. Seeing from first hand the impact of FlyCode on the bottom line of businesses has been really amazing.
iddan··on JSON Patch
Really sucks we don’t have the JQ/JS notation style for paths in this standard I think it would have made it much more accessible
iddan··on Dookie Demastered
I physically chuckled
iddan··on Dookie Demastered
As someone who was a teen about ten years ago I can confess it was still very relevant and I even got its CD (though honestly I listened to it mostly on my iPod Touch)
iddan··on Show HN: JAQT – JavaScript Queries and Transformations
This is everything i wanted
iddan··on Sourcegraph went dark
I wonder from all the people commenting here how much they relied on Source Graph, and how many actually paid for it. Running an open-source company is hard, just like running any company is. Sometimes you understand there are things you just can't give out for free, and that's part of maturing as a company.
iddan··on Meta introduces Segment Anything Model 2
Also in web development technologies: React, React Native, Jest, GraphQL, & Docusaurus
iddan··on Show HN: Horizon – Private alternative to Imgur
You obviously did
iddan··on Show HN: Draggable tier list / Kanban board
Doesn’t work on iPhone
iddan··on The magic of small engineering teams
Looks like it works pretty good for them. Maybe managing like an engineer is not such a good idea
iddan··on The magic of small engineering teams
From my experience: that is not the problem selling to developers
iddan··on The magic of small engineering teams
To give a counter point: replacing stan.store takes a day, while replacing posthog can take a year
