iceron··on Losing Music
This is wonderfully written. It reminds me of a condition called visual snow [1] where sufferers develop continuous TV-static-like tiny flickering dots in their entire visual field. Makes you appreciate the things you have.

iceron··on Andrew Kim: Minimal to the max
Unless I am missing something, hundreds of thousands of followers on these types of accounts definitely does not equal close to $10,000 a week.
iceron··on Eigengrau
I meant related to the processes behind migraines (specifically migraine aura). Not that migraines cause visual snow. IIRC, there is currently research being done on visual snow at the UCSF.
iceron··on Eigengrau
Because visual snow has nothing to do with your eyes. More related to migraines than anything.

Excellent read. I've been wanting to try out Teespring for a relatively popular (~ 46k followers) Twitter account I manage ever since I saw veb's post. Time to get thinking about some designs.

Yes, Blue field entoptic phenomenon is the name.

I've also heard of visual snow, which seems to be related to migraines.

I have seen $69 and $99 as well.

Yep, running tests with Optimizely. Surely they have updated it by now.
iceron··on Dropbox Bug Can Permanently Lose Your Files
FYI: I'm pretty sure Windows users can navigate to their Dropbox folder and type 0 bytes in the search bar to see if they were affected.
iceron··on The new Hulu
One of the more interesting things about this new version is its "face match" feature. It allows you to highlight over an actors face and it gives you card of information about them.

I've tried Evernote. Most of my content are saved links, which Evernote doesn't seem to handle well as far as I have seen.

I like Kippt. I just wish their was a service like it where I didn't have to worry about any of my saved content becoming public. Or that it might be acquired and then I have to start over (I'm looking at you, Spool). For now, I suppose I will continue to use Kippt. Their search needs some work, though.

Regardless, this type of linking violates responsible FTC disclosure.

This is super helpful. Thanks!
iceron··on Refer.ly (YC S12) Lets Regular Folks Earn Affiliate Revenue
Judging by its appearance, I'm guessing this won't have any business options? Would be nice to have a centralized product like this that saves me from having to find/sign up for each individual affiliate program. Plus having all the analytics data in one place, too.

Right now it seems to be super early stage. No database of affiliate programs that they have and you can't even withdraw rewards (earnings).

I would like an Android application that delays all notifications by a set amount a time.

So if I want to do an hour of work I could set it to an hour and it wouldn't notify me at all. After the hour is up, all the notifications appear as they normally would.

It is inevitable that a time will come where it will be possible for humans to stave off aging to a significant degree. Whether this is in 100 years or 10,000 years, it is difficult to tell. What measures should be taken because of this is for the future to decide.
