icecube··on iPhone apps share data with trackers, ad companies and research firms
Just download a Host file[1] and you can have system level ad blocking on your laptop.

As for running an adblock on your router, if your router supports openwrt, openwrt has an adblock addon[2] that is easily configurable.

Unfortunately, you will lose out on the statistics that Pi-hole collects.

When you use the "!g" bang operator, DDG is not anonymizing your search to Google. It is simply redirecting you to Google.
icecube··on New Features in C# 7.0
It has to due with history. Traditionally, other languages (such as Scala, Haskell and ML) with statically typed tuples start at index 1 instead of 0.
icecube··on Angular 1.x Banned from Firefox Addons
That was a good talk. I highly recommend watching the entire video.
icecube··on Chromium-based Slimjet Browser with Continued Support for XP and Vista
Firefox still supports XP SP2 and Vista.
icecube··on jQuery 3.0 Release Candidate
Wow, had no idea that request was so bloated. And thanks for mentioning got. I just checked it out and I think that is the lib I will be going with on the backend. I love the stream support, very cool.

Honest question, what is wrong with request (and superagent)? Is it just size or something more? I am only asking because yesterday I was looking for a promise supported library and I was comparing superagent (with its promise wrapper), request-promise, axios and node-fetch. I have narrowed it down to axios and fetch but I would like to hear your opinion on the matter.
icecube··on Show HN: PairForce – Collaborative Cloud IDE and Terminal Powered by Docker
I would like to see screenshots and a list of supported languages/frameworks.

Also, the homepage says "Run it, commit it, and move on". Do you have native support for git? (And if you do, is it just github, or do you support gitlab, bitbucket, etc?)

icecube··on Nanodegree Plus: Get hired within six months of graduating, or tuition refund
Because a student who just graduated should not be teaching new students. They are way too junior and inexperience even if they are the top in their class. The bootcamp should be investing in quality instructors.

Also, some bootcamps hire students that have trouble finding a job in order to keep their percentage of students finding jobs high.

icecube··on How I Interview
Correct me if I am wrong, but wont this result in the mines being placed in the front more often than not? sort(function() { return math.rand() - .5; }) doesnt result in a truely random distribution.
icecube··on Show HN: Topophi.com – find trails, camps, photos of national forests and parks
We do not yet have a way to accept and display user submitted data. That is one of the many things we will be working on next.

Going internationally is another challenge in and of itself and right now we have been focusing strictly on the US.

Send us an email at info at topophi.com and we'll talk.

Martyjs is a flux framework that allowed us to easily write isomorphic javascript. We were able to get React to render all pages serverside. The stores would get serialized and sent to the client where the client would then boostrap itself.
