Do you still consider this an IDE? Curious

This is something I always had in my mind: sign at photo taken, at least you know it comes from a phone and it's not AI generated

CC with Jetbrain's IDE MCPs. get rid of those greps, seds, awks, heads and tails!

I have been having huge success with CC and HTMX+Go. Not even tailwind. It made me never want to touch React again; it eased my way into the simpler stuff.

I remember doing this at uni, networking labs

They seem to be a top brand in sailing for now, still. But they did move to a subscription for their Navionics charts.

Oh my GOSH (GoSqliteHtmx) stack.

Bluetooth + phone mounted next to the wheel worked nicely (and still does in older models). I wish I had this option still. Better, AUX instead of Bluetooth. It would be so fast to plug&play...

All coastal zones are. Mallorca is the same, for example. Eivissa as well. Many parts of València, etc. And that's just the ones I know.

> for the people saying things like “I’m a PhD from xyz uni and I’m telling your LLMs are just stochastic tools that make everything up and the world will fall apart if you use them”, I’m here to tell you that you are out of date. The world of software engineering has changed dramatically in the last few months.

It indeed has. I now review code written by machines that sucks the life of me, read reports written by a machine, and overall have a miserable life as a software engineer. The pay is good so I'll keep on it for the time being, but you are damn right it changed, for the worse.

The bubble keeps getting bigger!

You are right, until you are to review PRs at work that you know were 100% generated by AI.

I don't use Spotify. Will people that do and are fans of the same bands have priority over me?

This feels like reinventing Tailwind, but worse.

I know I will be flagged, and it doesn't add anything of value to the conversation, but: From every single private server WoW player out there, a sincerely Fuck You Blizzard is in place. This sentiment is shared among all of us, and it's been there for decades. Keep shutting us down, more will come.

I wish Adobe adopted Jetbrain's model. You pay for a version of the software. You then keep it forever. Then offer additional stuff like using their AI or some cloud save stuff.

What about https://github.com/cloud-gouv/securix, though?

It changes permissions nicely and it's nice for my Fedora NAS Jellyfin Torrent server management. It comes preinstalled. Everything that I listed would make the software better.

Instead of spreading FUD about a protocol, one could stay in X11. If you don't need fractional scaling, HiDPI, real multi monitor support, mixed refresh rates, HDR, VRR, no tearing, and trust all your apps to not keylog everything, you can keep using any XOrg DE.

PSA: The file browser plugin can't move files (you need to copy, paste, and go back and delete the original file). You can't select multiple files without a keyboard. You can't upload multiple files at the same time. Mobile screen has lots of usability issues, specially with long paths or filenames.

Having this in userdb is not bad per se. We already have a bunch of PII in there.

I am working on getting the sailing Captain license (I started sailing when I was 8), and move my life there. I hate how things work nowadays. I feel like I am a police officer vs my friends/coworkers AI code. And I don't want to do that

One can only hope this trend is big enough to make phone manufacturers bring the 3.5mm jack connector back.

I use GBoard without internet permission.

Didn't they announce a partnership with Google Gemini?

Curve works on GrapheneOS. I use it weekly.

In 1953, Iran was a secular and democratic country. They had elected a prime minister who decided to nationalize the oil industry. The US didn't like this and overthrew him. They imposed a brutal monarchical dictatorship. Popular discontent led to the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The ayatollahs, to a large extent, existed because of US interference.

The same is true for all the instability in the Middle East, entirely manufactured by the West.

Action-reaction, cause-effect: You never know how a story will end. And after the 1979 revolution, the CIA and British MI6 provided the ayatollahs with lists of communists to exterminate, which they did. Imperialism always prefers to deal with theocracies rather than communists. https://www.declassifieduk.org/how-britain-helped-irans-isla...

I actually get head ache after a long session in front of my computer, but putting anti blue light glasses it goes away or never happens.

Pretty cool

mise use -g github:cpcloud/micasa

and just start typing. I wish it had metric units and was translated, though!
