ib84··on ZEROe: Hydrogen-hybrid aircraft concept
I'm no expert, so this could be wrong but I have a gut feeling that during descent it could probably idle-glide by using the high-lift device sooner. If anybody was serious about flying with less emissions that could probably save lots of energy already today - it would just take longer to reach the target. It would be interesting to see numbers how the gravitational potential energy compares to the drag forces.

A side-question on the perspective of battery-driven electric-flights: when electric cars can recuperate power instead of breaking, why can't airplanes do the same on descent? Couldn't they build a propeller at the rear, which does propulsion and recuperation? Energy-wise, that would certainly be attractive...

Scary. Are there independent sources confirming that?

Assuming you managed to install your own Zotero sync server (not webdav), does anyone know how to use it with the Zotero client?

I'm a big fan of Zotero. One of the greatest features is that you can use your own WebDav-Server to store and sync PDF files. There is also this tutorial on how to install your own Zotero server [1], but I don't know how to config Zotero to use it. Anyone knows?

yes, unfortunately, that indeed is a concern. It should be examined.

This is great, and I hope it get's opensourced and more widespread. One thing of ecological importance that could be emphasized more, is that the shell of shell-fish represents a stable carbon sink. It's not so much that sea-gras extracts more anorganic carbon than land plants, because that organic carbon is likely going to end up as CO2 one way or another. But shells allow to effectively remove excessive carbon from the global carbon cycle.
