I’m sure this has been a gradual and long decline. Maybe it even started with the dot com boom and accelerated with crypto. With AI it seems to have got worse.
Especially ridiculous is how the hacker news crowd seems to be taking these at face value…
There was one the other day with a compelling demo. But when you looked closely at it, it was feeding in the options with the word “best” on the option to pick and a fine tuned model designed to recognise that word…
But Jev is works pretty much out of the box without any fine tuning.
Zero-shot vs. Fine-tuning: Out-of-the-box base models score ~0.35 on the typed-decisions benchmark (near random). The 0.766 score is achieved by fine-tuning on the benchmark's train split. Treat Laya as a fast foundation model to specialize, not as an omniscient zero-shot oracle.
It actually works pretty well!
We can come up with all sorts of reasons - anti money laundering, concerns around charge back etc…
Why can’t stripe just say the reason?
Times, dates, location, pricing, parking etc…
As he points out “it added a bunch of text…” now it’s one all the future designs. That’s great - is the text correct?
To be honest this was a problem before AI. People are not very good at communicating.
The wizards don’t become sourcerers themselves - they become enthusiastic users of someone else’s sourcery. Their years of learning don’t protect them from mistaking access to power for mastery of it.
But for love of god, my blog changes at most every couple months. You don’t need to scrape it every few minutes.
But if you have a 25 year term on a loan for a $500,000
Approx numbers:
5%: $2922 monthly, total paid: $876,885
10%: $4543 monthly, total paid: $1,353,000.
Higher interest rates mean the monthly payment is higher. You need to pay back the principal + the interest.
“Great questions/point - would be great to pick it up with you later. Any other questions?”
The CE mark in Europe and the UL mark in the US is supposed to provide a floor on quality.
That floor can be increased if we as a society decides that this is required.
You might be unwilling to pay for this increased quality, but you don't have a choice.
The frustrating thing is, this is very easy for AI to detect. Just feed the image into any AI and it will tell you it is deceptive.

Perfectly fine according to google.
When they were still social networking they were useful.
There is an argument that they made it too easy to still feel connected. What should have been a phone call to talk to someone got replaced by liking some post from them.
His response was - they've got a team of lawyers on payroll whose job it is to make you run out of money...
It’s now quite hard to get non AI training data…

It’s very hard to make reliable though. Different models have different characteristics and you can prompt your way out of being detected.
Instead of trying to vibe it all - I got Claude to write deterministic scripts for creating the boards.
And did this before trying to completely vibe it: https://www.atomic14.com/2025/07/12/vibing-hardware
Is there a tech/team lead on the project - what’s their opinion of the progress the team is making?
It sounds like you are taking all the delivery responsibility on your own shoulders.
Is this project really top priority with your management? It sounds like it might not be.
