iamandrus··on Facebook apparently down in several countries worldwide
That hacker is claiming to be attacking Facebook and bringing it down using a CSRF attack. Sounds like crap to me, it was probably just a problem with DNS or something.
iamandrus··on John Hunter [matplotlib.sourceforge.net] has died.
Very sad to hear. His contributions to the Python community will never be forgotten.
iamandrus··on Updated: We’ve Deleted Our Facebook Page
Looks fine here, what's the issue?
iamandrus··on Draconian ‘Wi-Fi police' stalk Olympic Games
What about Bluetooth tethering? Do they check for that too?
iamandrus··on Android Forums hacked: 1 million user credentials stolen
Don't use this as a reason to diss PHP. Almost any target, no matter what language, is vulnerable.
iamandrus··on Patent troll stalks travel site Hipmunk
I agree. "Displaying data in multiple computer windows" is an absolutely ridiculous patent.

I know you guys can win this, best of luck! :)

iamandrus··on Facebook Blames Email Problems On User "Confusion"
Agreed, blaming the users for the company's own problem is disgusting.

I remember that comic by the way, I have it saved from a calendar somewhere. :P

iamandrus··on iOS App Store - Fake Microsoft Word 2012 Approved
The price is pretty ridiculous too. I would have bought it simply for the novelty if it wasn't $10.
iamandrus··on Tell HN: Heroku is Down (update: recovering as of 10PM PST)
I'm getting a "Request limit exceeded" error in my EC2 panel.
iamandrus··on Look how big Google Glasses are behind the ear
I hope the iOS jailbreak scene can do something with them.
iamandrus··on EA Killing Rock Band For iPhone, Game Will Be Unplayable For Current Owners
Doesn't this violate Apple's policy? If not, has this happened in the past?
iamandrus··on Facebook supports horrible proposed Internet bill CISPA
I'm trying to understand this bill better before taking a true stance on it. Is there a possibility that the powers that it grants can be abused?
iamandrus··on Facebook: Legal action against employers asking for your password
I agree. This was a damn good way of handling the situation: taking care of it head-on instead of watching from the sidelines and hoping things get better. I didn't think they would do much (except for maybe a blog post about how you shouldn't give your password to anyone or something similar), but this is totally beyond what I expected.
iamandrus··on Facebook Buys 750 IBM Patents To Defend Against Yahoo
So Facebook is going to fight fire with fire? This is not the way to handle it.
iamandrus··on AT&T Caps Unlimited Data Plans
I don't have a choice. It'd be too expensive to switch.
iamandrus··on AT&T Caps Unlimited Data Plans
Yep, still on 3G.
iamandrus··on AT&T Caps Unlimited Data Plans
I ran a speed test on my (throttled) AT&T 3G connection on my iPhone 4. 5 bars, perfect signal here. 0.03 Mbps down and 0.02 up. It's absolute bullshit.
iamandrus··on Google buys what’s left of defunct search startup Cuil
Their launch day was also a disaster. Their servers were completely unstable, their systems didn't work properly, and there were glitches everywhere.
iamandrus··on Kinect for Windows now available
I'd imagine it'll include the core SDKs and an option for OEMs to include built-in Kinect support (like Asus is doing).
iamandrus··on I Wasn't Paid
You can't even use an upgraded version of the browser? IE7 kinda defeats the point of a "secured" network.
iamandrus··on I Wasn't Paid
Your computer probably has malware. Run ComboFix and that should fix the issue.

iamandrus··on The Miracle of WD-40
Freon is heavily regulated these days. Very hard to get unless you know someone who works with it regularly (like a car mechanic).
iamandrus··on Paradox CEO Calls DRM a 'Waste of Money'
You are confusing DRM for the locking down of a product or platform. Apple locks down iOS for the benefit of the user (most of the time), but adds DRM to apps to prevent unauthorized code from being executed on the device and to prevent apps from being pirated (which Installous has proved futile).
iamandrus··on FileSonic disables all filesharing
>of attempting to copy Youtube 1 for 1

... since when is this a crime? There are tons of "clones" of YouTube out there.

iamandrus··on FileSonic disables all filesharing
Or MediaFire, or RapidShare, or even Box.net.
iamandrus··on ACTA will force border searches of laptops, smartphones for pirated content
All my drives are already TrueCrypted. I have nothing to hide, but I do not want to be treated like a criminal for doing something as simple as crossing the US border.
iamandrus··on Ask HN: What is a good alternative to PayPal?
Stripe is the best right now. Great user interface, great API, and awesome staff. Give it a try.
iamandrus··on Looks like a bunch of NetBSD code was used in Sony PSP. Fun!
If Sony were using my code in their product, I'd be pretty excited and proud to have created something that a huge company would use.
iamandrus··on Megaupload Is Back, Without a Domain Name
Is this just an unofficial fan-created thing or is MegaUpload actually returning? I didn't see any nasty scripts on the page so it's probably not malicious.
iamandrus··on The next SOPA
No one is making you use iOS.
