i_dursun··on Two millionth electric car registered as market rebounds from tax changes
I charge at home overnight.
i_dursun··on UK: Two millionth electric car registered as market rebounds strongly
Mine does about 40 miles during summer and 23 miles during winter. Given that my trips are within 25-35 miles range, I charge it daily. It’s at 9.5k miles and I filled up the tank about 7-8 times in 2 years. Rest was all electric.
i_dursun··on Rebasing in Magit
you can do this by using the "set parents" operation (shift+m) which allows you to add/remove parents to a revision. https://idursun.github.io/jjui/revisions/set-parents/

@nchmy You’re probably the biggest evangelist I’ve ever met.

> Will never scale

won't scale to what exactly?

i_dursun··on A taste of pavex, an upcoming Rust web framework
Looks interesting and I am totally behind this for exploring new design decisions.
i_dursun··on The Big TDD Misunderstanding
TDD expands to Test Driven Design for me rather than test driven development.

I have found TDD to be an extremely useful tool in cases where I was not sure about the design but knew what the requirements were.

On the positive side, we can finally find out if “momentum” is real or not.
i_dursun··on Turbo Pascal: A Great Choice for Programming Under CP/M (2013)
Good old memories. I have earned my first money from Turbo Pascal.

I was blown away when Turbo Pascal 7 came with syntax highlighting.

I also spent days trying to fix infamous Runtime Error 200.

i_dursun··on The Era of Visual Studio Code
Actually, the designer of Eclipse’s and VS Code’s extension system is the same person: Eric Gamma from Gang of four.

I believe unison does something along those lines:

i_dursun··on My Favorite Shortcuts for JetBrains' IDEs
My favorite too. I always remap that to shift+enter though.

i_dursun··on Dynamically changing, partially-stateful data-flow database written in Rust
Rust at speed talk from jonhoo actually adds some context around this project. https://youtu.be/s19G6n0UjsM
i_dursun··on Monoliths Are the Future
You can still deploy a new version of the monolith with a downgraded module.
i_dursun··on Mozilla lays off 70
Rust is not a Mozilla product.

It is heavily used at and funded by Mozilla but they have almost zero influence over the direction of the language.

Actually, this kind of perception is the reason that they have been recently talking about forming a Rust Foundation.

i_dursun··on FreeBSD on the Lenovo Thinkpad
I have installed Arch Linux on a Lenovo Ideapad 700 last year and everything worked out of the box. Didn’t have to configure a thing. I haven’t noticed that I haven’t installed Nvidia drivers for four months because vanilla 4K support was so good.
i_dursun··on Async-std: an async port of the Rust standard library
It’s like Rust is child of Python and Ruby but the real father is C++.
i_dursun··on Zero to Kubernetes on Azure
Hi, I am the author.

Thanks for pointing out the Azure's nginx-ingress add-on. The reason why I haven't mentioned it in the article is simply because I didn't know about it. I also haven't seen it used or mentioned in the articles published by Microsoft.

This article was the artefact of my personal effort of trying to understand what are the moving parts of a k8s cluster and what tools are used in what ways.

I am sure there are better/different ways of achieving the same and I am happy to hear all!
