hxseven··on Show HN: Syq – copy files between machines fast (better than rsync)
I thought I'd share a more positive comment. I work on a tool in a similar area (moving stuff around) but on a higher level. I currently use rsync or rclone for the file moving parts. So to me your tool looks interesting and promising, thanks for sharing it :)

Some suggestions for improvement for your website/Github:

- I wanted to understand how it differs from rsync. A comparison page would be helpful.

- A comparison to rclone would also be interesting, as it also uses multiple parallel connections.

- As it target more advanced users I think it would be helpful to provide more advanced technical insights on how your transfers exactly work. Also how are edge cases handled, what tests are done? Moving and copying files is critical, and you need to inspire trust in your project among users.

hxseven··on Show HN: Skill that lets Claude Code/Codex spin up VMs and GPUs
Thanks for sharing this interesting project and approach!

One suggestion for improvement: Add some more info to your website/GitHub about the need for a provider and which providers are compatible. It took me a bit to figure that out because there was no prominent info about it. Additionally, none of the demos showed a login or authentication part. To me, it seemed like the VMs just came out of nowhere. So at first, I thought "Cloudrouter" was a project/company that gave away free VMs/GPUs (e.g. free tier/trial thing). But that seemed too good to be true. Later, I noticed the e2b.app domain and then I also found the little note way down at the bottom of the site that says "Provider selection" and "Use E2B provider (default)". Then I got it. However, I should mention that I don't know much about this whole topic. I hadn't heard of E2B or Modal before. Other people might find it more clear.

For those that are wondering about this too, you will need to use a provider like https://e2b.dev/ or https://modal.com/ to use this skill, and you pay them based on usage time.

Netflix could also use or provide their own TV/movie productions as training data.
hxseven··on Show HN: StackHive – Live Web Coding and Visual Styling from the Browser
Thanks for the feedback, now the load time feels a bit faster. But in my opinion the overall experience could be a bit snappier. If I notice anything else I will let you know.

Interesting project, the user interface looks very nice and polished. But the access from Germany (Europe) is very slow which makes the IDE very unresponsive and tedious to work with.
hxseven··on Server side logging to Chrome console from PHP and Python
Shouldn't be that hard. You just need to encode the data in JSON and BASE64 and add it as HTTP header. Just look at the existing libraries, they don't seem to be that complicated.

They should really put some screenshots on the website, everybody wants screenshots... had to use Google Images to see how it looks ;)

For everybody who also wants to see screenshots, found some in this blog article: http://blog.getglimpse.com/2013/03/27/glimpse-1-2-released-w...

The interface looks quite nice...

The CoralCDN also has a cached version:

hxseven··on Zotonic - the Movie (Erlang Web Framework)
Nice little promotion video for an interesting project.

But one thing looks a bit odd to me, it's that she sits there alone behind the guys ;)

It would probably look better if they used a bigger sofa where she could sit next to them.

hxseven··on Doko: using Core Location on the command-line
Okay, I agree these actually are good use cases ;)

And thank you for contributing the module as open source.

hxseven··on Two year old bug in Android
Yes, I know. If they implement it properly it's alright.

But my concern is that a it might get a security vulnerability when a nifty hacker finds a way to automatically submit the SMS.

And in my opinion omitting the feature is the best way to avoid that problem.

BTW, this was already submitted: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4956663
hxseven··on Two year old bug in Android
Is it really so bad that this SMS URI scheme wasn't implemented?

To me it looks like another potential security vulnerability that could be abused by malicious websites.

Therefore I'm quite happy that this "feature" is missing ;)

hxseven··on Show HN: DataFart - easy command line graphing
That actually makes sense in German, it means something like "data ride".

But as I saw it first I didn't notice the similarity to the German words. I somehow thought it's a reference to South Park ;)

hxseven··on Monads in Python (with nice syntax)
BTW: This was already submitted to HN.

But that doesn't make it less interesting ;)

hxseven··on Doko: using Core Location on the command-line
The code looks fine, but when do you need such a function? I can't think of a use case.
hxseven··on A comic book about Google chrome
The comic was released when Chrome first came out (4+ years ago) ;)

The comic was also submitted multiple times to HN: http://www.hnsearch.com/search#request/submissions&q=chr...

But I still like it, it's a great way to visualize and explain technical processes.

Page is down for me too.

The only mirror I found so far is the Google cache: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://...

Other caches (e.g. CoralCDN) don't have the page yet...

The GlacierWorks team (in cooperation with URC Ventures) also made a photo-realistic 3D model of the Himalayas using images that were captured using a helicopter.
