humanwhosits··on Show HN: I made Devzat – It's like Discord but in the terminal, over SSH
I really like it, it seems like a great alternative to slack for a team that just wants non-notification chat
humanwhosits··on Google Domains is out of beta
Just because non-hn crowd isn't aware of it, doesn't mean it isn't a big problem
humanwhosits··on The first RISC-V portable computer is now available
Who built the cpu itself? It's interesting that it claims V-extension support, even though that was only just ratified

Please tell me there is more than one person

humanwhosits··on Amazon moves employees out of downtown Seattle office due to crime
They could put a police officer right next to him on the street, that'll keep the customers away
humanwhosits··on Amazon moves employees out of downtown Seattle office due to crime
Maybe we need a different sort of jail, one where things are kinda nice
humanwhosits··on Pull Request File Tree Feedback
Hiding of the large files has tripped me up multiple times. I've starting having to look at the diffs outside github's UI

Why doesn't firefox build ublock origin directly into firefox
humanwhosits··on M1 Ultra Geekbench Score

Not in the general case, but specifically with how Apple has brought the ram chips so physically close to the cpu cores

humanwhosits··on Apple Mac Studio
But chrome will

humanwhosits··on RISC-V is succeeding
> I haven't seen any technical advantage

humanwhosits··on Big tech makes a big bet: Offices are still the future
People want to move further away to lower housing costs. Commuting in for a half day seems demoralizing
humanwhosits··on AMD is now worth more than Intel
I'm surprised that was allowed, there aren't exactly many x86 manufacturers in the market
humanwhosits··on Twitter based map of Russian troop movements
Can always impose more isolation, this isn't anything near a full economic blockade yet
humanwhosits··on Support open source that you use by paying the maintainers to talk to your team
It also seems like a good way to get the OSS maintainer familiar with the company in case they ever wanted to have a more direct financial relationship
humanwhosits··on Bringing the Framework Laptop to more of the world
I want to know that the hardware will work with linux, and will continue to work with linux. A pre-install option is just one way to advertise and convince the user that you've tested the hardware to work on linux
humanwhosits··on Bringing the Framework Laptop to more of the world
A pre-install option for linux would increase user trust that it'll "just work"
humanwhosits··on Bringing the Framework Laptop to more of the world
Sure, but when you look at the ordering page, it doesn't mention linux as an OS option, just Windows or no OS

Just make it illegal for corporations to purchase single-family-homes

I liked using Linode, though I can't help but feel some apprehension about what will happen to it in the medium/long term
humanwhosits··on Ask HN: Why is Firefox losing marketshare and how would you save it?
Allow donations that explicitly go towards Firefox dev (rather than umbrella Mozilla).
