humanperhaps··on Prevent cognitive debt by manually retyping LLM-generated code
The key is, as you said, practice. I think it's fine to use AI to write code for you, as long as you occasionally force yourself to write code manually. Not only does it help you retain your skills, but it feels more satisfying than prompting, even if arduous.
humanperhaps··on Mistral's Robostral Navigate: a state of the art robotics navigation model
This looks to not be an openly available model, but I think if it were, availability of an easy single-camera navigation setup could allow for a lot of cool hobbyist projects.
humanperhaps··on Raspberry Pi 5 – 16GB RAM
The Pi Zero 2W is great, but data I/O (WiFi, USB, and micro SD) do limit use cases slightly. For most use cases, I doubt this is an issue, but it is something to keep in mind if you want to run bandwidth-constrained services on it. For $15, I don't think that's an issue, but it is unfortunate.
humanperhaps··on Gemma 4 on iPhone
Out of curiosity, do you have anything running on port 8000? Maybe it's not gracefully handling a port collision.
humanperhaps··on MacBook Neo
While I agree with you, I think it's important to note that MacOS does swap to disk quite often, even on 16 GB. While it's rarely noticeable due to how fast the internal SSDs are, it still leads to some degree of SSD wear (and disk i/o usage) that could be avoided with additional RAM. I can't imagine this leading to drive failure considering how long the lifespans of SSDs are though.
humanperhaps··on Show HN: Slack CLI for Agents
From my perspective, this also marks the shift towards agent skills instead of MCP, since agent skills rely on CLI tools. To me, this is also better than MCP since third-party developers can easily reuse existing APIs and libraries instead of needing official MCP support.
humanperhaps··on Silverbullet: Personal productivity platform built with Markdown and Lua
SilverBullet is an awesome piece of software. I still run it, and used to use it quite a bit a year or so ago. I've mostly switched to pen-and-paper, but if you have some spare time and want a simple, customizable note taking app, I highly suggest trying it out. I will say, don't skip the tutorial; it's pretty helpful.
humanperhaps··on Using Microsoft's New CLI Text Editor on Ubuntu
I feel like the default behavior should be to not write unless changes have been made. I may be misunderstanding here, but what would be getting written if nothing's been changed?
humanperhaps··on Projects made by ~100 teenagers last weekend at FUTO HQ
I'm a high schooler who has been working at The Hack Foundation (Hack Club) for the past four months building a hackathon peer-judging platform from scratch. Last weekend, it was deployed at a flagship hackathon. These are the projects that were made by attendees. Next weekend, it will be deployed in over 100 cities globally with an estimated 3000 users for Hack Club's Scrapyard.
humanperhaps··on Devzat – Chat over SSH, with some nice quality-of-life features
Amazing project, by the way!

Didn't think about that when posting - my bad
