hudell··on “Ancient Mayan city” discovered by teen may in fact be cannabis crop
I'm actually surprised that I saw the "it was false" news pretty much everywhere, without even seeing the original news anywhere.
hudell··on Introducing WhatsApp's Desktop App
I'm not really asking for that feature. If I could send and receive messages on the computer without having to open the smartphone app every five minutes for it to restore the connection, I would be happy already;
hudell··on Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo
Do native speakers read this and naturally understand what is being said? I understand the three meanings, but I wouldn't be able to point which instances of the word have each meaning.

I still prefer "had had had had" though: "All the faith that he had had had had no effect in the outcome of his life"

hudell··on WhatsApp is back online in Brazil
"Brazilians have been leaders in connecting the world and creating an open internet for many years. I hope you make your voice heard now and demand change"

I think he didn't word this right.

hudell··on Italian court rules food theft 'not a crime' if hungry
It's the same situation in Brazil. I don't know if it's a law or a company rule of most big markets, but they simply added a few pennies to the price of the products as a form of insurance, then they don't call the police when they find someone stealing low amounts of food. It doesn't happen very often (the clerk that told me about this year ago had said it was the first time it happened in his shift)
hudell··on Atari co-founder: mobile games make me want to throw my phone
There are so many stores on android, I will be surprised if there isn't any that only accepts games without IAP.
hudell··on WebKit is moving away from prefixes
But if the site used prefixed css, it's possible that no other browser would render the site properly anyway (many sites these days are made with just chrome/safari in mind)
hudell··on William Shakespeare, Playwright and Poet, Is Dead at 52
What about people thinking this was taken from a 400 year old edition of the paper?
hudell··on Hey Android, why no love for UTC?
When I switched from Android to Windows Phone back in 2012, I was surprised with the quality of the localization. I lived in a very small town in the middle of Brazil and even so, the dictionary knew all regional words, town names and prety much anything I tried to type on it.

Everytime I use iOS or Android, I'm quickly reminded that that is not the case outside windows phone.

hudell··on Google 'mic drop' Gmail joke for April Fools' day backfires
Regular archived conversations go back to inbox everytime there's a new message.
hudell··on Google 'mic drop' Gmail joke for April Fools' day backfires
Well, there's plenty of references to this on the internet already.
hudell··on Google 'mic drop' Gmail joke for April Fools' day backfires
People didn't have to see the new button to trigger it. Some simply use keyboard shortcuts. In my case, Ctrl+Enter triggers the modified button.
hudell··on Google 'mic drop' Gmail joke for April Fools' day backfires
Send and Archive is my default button, which is triggered when I press Ctrl+Enter on a reply.
hudell··on Facebook is the new Excel
I use the messenger part of it and I have a page to share stuff about the game I'm making, but I rarely ever use the timeline or other stuff like that.
hudell··on Facebook is the new Excel
And at the end of the post, a twitter handler.
hudell··on Digitally weary users switch to ‘dumb’ phones
Ohh, that brings back memories. The one I had was the N800 though (but I really missed the keyboard of the N800).
hudell··on Use Atom to edit in Chrome
There are similar plugins for sublime out there.
hudell··on Facebook and its news feed algorithm
Those tips seem great to increase the reach of your own posts on facebook, but I believe you'll also see a lot more unwanted content on your timeline if you do that. Not really what I'm looking for.
hudell··on Facebook and its news feed algorithm
My facebook timeline is the worst of all social networks. I unfollowed 90% of my friends that I don't care about, so it has very little data to show me, but instead of showing all of the content of those users, it still filters out most stuff by whatever criteria they use, so I often go days with the same content being shown on the top of my timeline (and missing a lot of posts that I actually wanted to see).

Setting the feed to "Most Recent" usually gives better content, but the option unsets itself every other day.

hudell··on Iran's blogfather: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are killing the web
Other than social networks, I really miss the internet before youtube got so popular. These days, people put a video on youtube for everything. Things that used to be written, parsed and easily searchable, now are locked inside lengthy videos.
hudell··on Brazilian Judge Shuts Down WhatsApp for 48 Hours
After reading this and other messages like this, I feel like I'm living on a bubble. I hardly ever use whatsapp and didn't know it was so widely used by everyone around me.
hudell··on Telegram gains 1M users after Whatsapp ban
I just wanted MSN Messenger back. That was the only messaging app that worked well for me.
hudell··on Email made me miserable, so I decided to build my own email app from scratch
Nylas N1 looks really nice, thanks for telling about it :D
hudell··on Cortana available on iOS and Android
Until just a few weeks ago, even switching the phone region and language, I couldn't use Cortana because it just wouldn't download the Language Pack for english. It only started working after a system update. It didn't take me another day to notice that it was useless to me and that I shouldn't even have bothered.
hudell··on Show HN: GitHub File Watcher – get notified when files change in a GitHub repo
Thanks a lot!
hudell··on Show HN: GitHub File Watcher – get notified when files change in a GitHub repo
Very useful!

I write plugins for RpgMaker and a lot of the people who use them are regular users who don't know how to use GitHub. Some of them had asked for a way they could get notifications every time I update a plugin, this will be very useful for that.

Can I request a feature? Would be nice to have a way I could pass the repository and file names on the query string, so I can put a link where people only need to inform their email and submit to start receiving notifications for that.

hudell··on Why Americans dress so casually
I don't know why I'm getting downvoted here. No matter how I look at it, I can't see anything negative in people not caring about their looks.
hudell··on Why Americans dress so casually
why?
hudell··on Why Americans dress so casually
"Nowadays it feels like people just don't care about their looks."

Do you think that is a bad thing?

hudell··on Are My Push Notifications Driving Users Away?
Any app that shows me a notification that isn't a message or something that someone sent to me, I uninstall right away. I don't even check if there's a way to disable it unless the app is very useful.
