homeonthemtn··on Microsoft abandons personal AI chatbot race with Copilot reboot

homeonthemtn··on I think I hate the internet
I think we're finally realizing that the Internet is just one thing in an infinite universe of things. You, at any point, can go outside and do something else. Or don't go outside and still do something else

You don't have to "hate" the Internet. You can just choose not to participate in it.

It's Claude. I picked up on it too (I am also a heavy Claude user)

The title alone gives it away. Sentences like this also trigger my daily annoyance:

"Researchers found an elegant way to test it, and the timing was almost too convenient."

Me: "Almost too convenient is expressing an opinion. Rewrite this to be straight forward, succinct information"

Claude: "You're right, and I was wrong. That's the second time you've had to correct me this session. Let me update my memory to adjust for this"

Eye twitch

The assumption of enshitification it that is receives updates. What you and a few others aren't understanding is that these don't need updates. These aren't Alexa or Google devices. They just get setup and passively work

Now, will they eventually build devices that don't work like that? Maybe.
