holoduke··on Zuckerberg says AI agent development going slower than expected
Mark is really a bad leader with a mwah mwah vision. He is maybe correct in some things. But the execution is really really poor. Plus he does not have followers and believers. He only got money that can simulate followers to a certain extent
holoduke··on The Great Blogging Collapse: What Happened to 100 Successful Blogs?
The only place for me to consume information is this place, some reddits and yes my Claude cli. I know you guys thinking. But it's how it is. I don't use any other medium anymore. I am thinking of ditching reddit. The bubble toxicity is too much there.
holoduke··on "Beyond the limit": Satellites and mirrors in space pose threat to the night sky
ah and guess what. only western US / European countries are allowed to have them. The rest are called shadow fleet satellites.
holoduke··on Protect your right to run local AI
Chinese culture is opensource. Every single city in China which are often focused around one particular thing. For example clothing or electronics, are sharing tech, experience, methodologies etc between each other. It's how the Chinese system works. It's very unnatural to hide and project inventions. In the US it's the absolute way around. That's why in China you don't have patent trolls and piles of lawyers sueing the shit out of everyone
holoduke··on Spain Orders Blacklist of Palantir from Public and Private Companies
The ceo of the company supports mass termination of people. It's pretty obvious to me. This is the type of company that build ways to achieve evil ideology
holoduke··on Spain Orders Blacklist of Palantir from Public and Private Companies
I find it unbelievable that the current chief of Nato (Rutte) is basically an extension of Palantir. He is making sure countries are signing contracts with this extreme company that on pair with the Nazi ideology. They would support mass extermination camps. You probably think this is over exaggerated. But no its not. This company is evil.
holoduke··on Comparing Fable and 10 other LLMs on refactoring a LangGraph god node
Even for a ui change fable complained about policy issues. This model is unusable
holoduke··on Fable 5 Is Back
We really need glm to be on pair with claude. A good Chinese model against a good US model would be the ultimate competition. No bullshit scaled down models with insane restrictions. Everything open and maximum speed in model improvements. If China also would manage to master high tier chips then we truly can expect 768gb machines in 4 years from now.
holoduke··on Fable 5 Is Back
Yep claude design is nice. You can also do it from CLI or your own lovable clone. I made a fork from claudable https://github.com/holoduke/Claudable What I find stong with Fable is that it can pixel perfect copy existing sites or designs. And it can do complete conversions from plain html to nuxt, angular or react apps.
holoduke··on Fable 5 Is Back
I dont believe they can afford to switch to API pricing. Everyone will leave. I am easily spending the equivalent of 1000 dollars a day on tokens with two max subscriptions. that about 400 dollars a month. Thats acceptable for my position. But thats like 30k per month. Totally not viable.
holoduke··on European ISPs Want Rightsholders Held Accountable for Overblocking Damage
Everyone into childporn use uncensored models/sites deeply hidden from the public. Every single part of censorship is having a bad effect on the common world where normal people try to operate normally. The ones caught at this levels are not the interesting ones you want to catch.
holoduke··on Reflections on software engineering in the age of AI
For websites this work. But now you are a core developer of the GTA6 engine. Your task is to create a fast efficiënt occlusion mapper. One that works from all angles. Has cavities and rt support. Good luck doing this with Claude. It's not gonna achieve this. Because only a handful of games achieved this partly. Maybe next gen AI can do it. But for complex tasks LLMs are still not good enough.
holoduke··on Wayfinder Router: deterministic routing of queries between local and hosted LLM
LLMs have no state. There is nothing remembered, nothing new learned. It's the same input , the same output always (unless seeding is randomized). So during a chat it won't matter if every chat turn a different provider is used.
holoduke··on Can China build its own ASML?
Constant blaming and framing others of stealing. State support, unfair practices etc is not gonna help you become successful. China is now part of the game. You better work with them.
holoduke··on U.S. government will decide who gets to use GPT-5.6
They have the same values. Domination it is. People are people. Really no difference between the US and China. None at all.
holoduke··on GLM-5.2 is a step change for open agents
Come on. The 200 spend on Claude is easily earned back. A few hours of work maximum.
holoduke··on GLM-5.2 is a step change for open agents
Here most of my colleagues have +200 dollar rates. It's really a no brainer. But sure, in south America or some Asian countries maybe it is. But still most devs need it anyway. Also in the poor regions.
holoduke··on OpenAI unveils its first custom chip, built by Broadcom
One day we can design our own pcb with chips, hardware and other io. Companies will accept these as files and you can collect your pcb the same day. I think in China they are doing this already
holoduke··on Will It Mythos?
Yesterday I wanted to delete records from a database in my own ssh server. It refused to do so. No matter what I prompted. Very annoying.
holoduke··on Identity verification on Claude
For certain capabilities one can use uncensored models which can be found on huggingface. It's perfect for asking on how to create atomic bombs, meth labs, assassination plans, brute force hack scripts and more. You only need one or two h200 cards.
holoduke··on DOS Game "F-15 Strike Eagle II" reversing project needs DOS test pilots
Is this game similar to retaliator?
holoduke··on Ask HN: Will programmers write more efficient code during the memory shortage?
Yes. Let's hope bloated frameworks like react, angular and vue with their dreaded hydration and ssr approaches will be replaced with pure clientside applications with stateless servers with small data apis only. That alone will reduce zeptibytes of memory requirements in the world.
holoduke··on How many of the 170k English words do you know?
Funny that lots of words can be guessed correctly if one knows a few European languages. I speak Dutch, German, Russian, English and was able to recognize most of the words without ever using it in English. For example Seldom. It's very similar to Zelden in Dutch. I would never use the word Seldom though.
holoduke··on DeepSeek Introduces Vision
A bit of topic. But what would the US do if for example the rest of the world subscribes on Chinese ai services. I think the US would show some really nasty behavior.
holoduke··on Swiss parliament lifts ban on new nuclear power plants
The mindset that makes people stuck in time. Sorry but SMRs are potentially very cheap. Not at this point. ,but when operated on scale they will be. You need to start
holoduke··on TerraPower in deal with Meta for eight Natrium 345 MW nuclear plants
When I read this I am more convinced that Europe is done. With leaders like Kaja Kallis, Rutte and Ursula it's so blatantly visible that these people can't think further than one minute. It's really time for a breakup so countries are no longer chained to insanity. They are destroying themselves.
holoduke··on OpenAI Losses Increased Nearly 8X in 2025, with Spending Hitting $34B
During the internet bubble collapse in the 00s quite some companies went bankrupt. But that's actually a good thing. It doesn't stop progress. It creates new opportunities and new baselines. Same will happen here. AI will not be less or gone or reduced to useless. It will become better , bigger and faster.
holoduke··on Peopleless economy? Not technically impossible
One should live and enjoy today. Way too many people live in the future. Only to find out it never becomes reality. Today is reality.
holoduke··on Running local models is good now
Good? My Macbook m3 with 36gb locked up after it filled all memory with Gemma4. A bit useful yes. But it eats all resources. For local models to be useful we need at least 128gb of system memory and 512gb of video memory. Plus 8 times the compute of a single 5090/h200
holoduke··on I Love the Computer
That will never happen. You know that. It will only become more and more. there is no return. My advise: don't stick with those blocker ideas.
