hodanli··on How to debloat your Xiaomi 15 Ultra without root access
I hate that this is still a reality in 2026.
hodanli··on A Technical Deep Dive into the New Raycast
perfect writeup. very informative. i like the way they managed to get same app in both platforms without compromise.
hodanli··on Show HN: VS Code Agent Kanban: Task Management for the AI-Assisted Developer
The way I do it is with an agents.md prompt (though the extension provides a skill). Basically, if a Kanban item is created and referenced, ai uses that to log changes, decisions, and proposed commit messages etc. If there isn't a Kanban item, it creates one and does the same.

I am using another VSCode Kanban extension. Very similar workflow to this one. I am very happy with it, it solved many issues I am having with context.

hodanli··on Show HN: Mini-Diarium - An encrypted, local, cross-platform journaling app
I'm still using allmyjournals, even though the app, website, and company are all gone.
hodanli··on How I use Obsidian (2023)
This was me until I discovered Logseq. I still use Workflowy to collaborate with others, but combining notes and todos with a powerful query system is what makes Logseq my goto note and todo management tool.

hodanli··on Sidecar – your AI-accelerated development workflow in one shell [video]
This app looks really comprehensive. I'm gonna try it out and hope it's as stable as it seems.
hodanli··on The Codex App
I am in love with wails. having python and JS background with no go experience. I pm'ed Ai agents to create a fairly complex desktop app for my own use. it is day and night in terms of performance compared to lightest electron app.
hodanli··on Stranger Things creator says turn off “garbage” settings
worst is graphic settings for games. needs PhD to understand.
hodanli··on Typst 0.14
Can I convert LaTeX templates to Typst and vice versa? Many journals have LaTeX templates and demand LaTeX.
hodanli··on AI-generated 'poverty porn' fake images being used by aid agencies
Eastern cultures say the same thing about the influence of the West. Ha!
hodanli··on Uv overtakes pip in CI
Same here. I still use conda from time to time for this.
hodanli··on Org tutorials
i like logseq as somewhat modern iteration of org-mode
hodanli··on New tools for building agents
Hi Steve,

I based my assumption on the examples in the documentation[^1]. It is great that we can still use that.

hodanli··on New tools for building agents
I wonder why they phased out Pydantic in structured output for the Responses API.
hodanli··on Johnny.Decimal – A system to organise your life
it is more similar to logseq's journey. you can give it a try.
hodanli··on Show HN: SimpleSearch – Just a list of search bars

hodanli··on Orbit by Mozilla
Definitely makes Firefox irreplaceable for me.
hodanli··on Hoarder: Self-hostable bookmark-everything app
Memex is the tool I use for a similar purpose, but I still cannot find a link that I know I saved. I think this problem is not solved yet.
hodanli··on Should we be thinking about luck differently?
This is a great read. I’ve also read a similar paper discussing bad luck with rare events, like lightning strikes and plane crashes, happening to the same person more than once, and the statistical side of it. I think about that paper from time to time and try to find it on Google, but haven’t had any luck.
hodanli··on Show HN: FinetuneDB – AI fine-tuning platform to create custom LLMs
I dont think it is a big deal but you can use your own image or give credit to openai presentation on YouTube.
hodanli··on Show HN: JSON For You – Visualize JSON in graph or table views
i am using https://jsonhero.io/ for a time and happy with it. but i will definitely check this out too.
hodanli··on Qocker is a user-friendly Qt GUI application for managing Docker containers
Excuse me for my naive question, but why don't we use native Docker Desktop? What are the advantages of this tool?
hodanli··on Zen, a Arc-like open-source browser based on the Firefox engine
i really like the hierarchy in sidebery
