hmokiguess··on I could've accessed 17T Microsoft records
How many times has Microsoft gone through this? I feel like I remember a similar one with Active Directory a few years back.
hmokiguess··on Dots: Always-on agents
When did we become so dystopian? I can't watch commercials of these things anymore
hmokiguess··on Made by Mechanical Means
I appreciate sharing the process and I totally get this workflow style, I wish you had also shared your usage cost building this.

hmokiguess··on I'm the Mom in That Viral Giants Clip. Let Me Tell You About My Husband
Part of being grounded and self aware is realizing you are not your thoughts and not everything you believe is true.

The brain does what it does in an attempt to help you, but not often it hits the mark, sometimes it takes a bit of a reminder to pause and unpack things more carefully.

hmokiguess··on Bug: Border radius has infected VSCode editor
Tangential: who's still using VSCode in 2026?
hmokiguess··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
I didn't understand what you said or your analogy, sorry maybe I'm stupid. Would you be able to explain this differently? Maybe something implied was omitted and I didn't follow that.
hmokiguess··on Topcoat is pushing the boundary of server applications with Rust
Soon we're gonna need a way to catch bugs at prompt time
hmokiguess··on Show HN: Critic – Review code with the agent that wrote it
How does Critic ensure that the narrative, the assumptions, decisions and complexity generated by the agent are correctly brought forward in this different format and not, itself, being vulnerable to the same exact problems?
hmokiguess··on Is A.I. Above the Law?
To even ask this question.
hmokiguess··on Claude discovers a novel enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeats
> just wrote the agentic harness

I think "just" and "harness" are carrying a lot there, you likely underestimate how much that matters and how their knowledge made it possible

hmokiguess··on Once Claude can measure something, it can make it faster
You removed the load-bearing seams didn't you
hmokiguess··on Claude discovers a novel enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeats
I'm getting tired of the marketing.

There are so many people involved on this yet we still say things like "Claude did", we need to start waking up and being more real about how we are still in "AI + Human" land.

What's wrong with saying "A team of researchers backed by Anthropic using Claude discovers a novel enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeats" or, ffs, mention the lead researcher in the headline?

hmokiguess··on Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech
That argument says as much about the training as it says about your sexuality, you do realize that right.
hmokiguess··on Stripe's Knowledge AI Platform
It's a lot of sugar and high level abstractions on top of existing things, I find using the existing things not that complicated or difficult and I struggle to see the value on using the framework as it doesn't sit well with my way of abstracting the stack.
hmokiguess··on Strands Harness
Will they block me if I build an agent with this that shops on Amazon?
hmokiguess··on Montreal adopts bylaw banning insults against police, municipal employees
Good for them, if only Canada was able to understand that.
hmokiguess··on Stripe's Knowledge AI Platform
Totally, I find LangChain is the Vercel of ML
hmokiguess··on Stripe's Knowledge AI Platform
Your project seems way better than the stuff they built, nice work.
hmokiguess··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
Fair point, I agree with that.
hmokiguess··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
Well, the thing that confuses me is that I am not running out of space I have a 2TB iCloud plan already and it has plenty of room.
hmokiguess··on Claude Opus 5.5
You're right, this changes everything, and here's why it matters.
hmokiguess··on JetBrains Air: A System of Products for Agentic Software Development
I think I am sort of "aware" of what's out there, though maybe not to its full extent, but one feedback I would have is to try and do one thing, and just one thing, really really reaaaaaally well.

There's so much going on right now, and the push to PaaS is not performing as well in my opinion.

Take a look at how Herdr got viral, and how it exposes protocols that let others come and build with it. Multiplexers are a good bet, though there are plenty of other verticals out there too.

I would say try to chase another ReSharper moment for you guys.

hmokiguess··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
The one I have is also lying to me, it says: "Activate iCloud Storage - An iCloud storage upgrade is ready to be used with your Apple Account "account@icloud.com". Continue"

I then click "Continue" and it's an upsell decoy, pay to upgrade.

I'm sorry but that message to me reads like I have been granted an upgrade not that I have been blessed with the opportunity to spend my money on more juice.

Really disappointed at this one, I like and use Apple, but this is off brand and has a really bad taste.

hmokiguess··on OpenAI GPT–6 Astra breaks Enigma message that has resisted solution since 2005
Maybe naive of me, but could it simply just be the overfitting of the same tokens being sent on the input twice because of repetition rather than some unknown implied intelligence.
hmokiguess··on People Training OpenAI's AI Fired for Using AI to Train the AI
Makes sense, they are buying distillation of human brains not their own weights.
hmokiguess··on JetBrains Air: A System of Products for Agentic Software Development
I would love to see JetBrains win, I like them as a business, though unfortunately I haven't been using their products in a long time now.
hmokiguess··on Show HN: Sigabrt.dev – cronjob monitor with an SSH TUI
I never read such comments in that way, the way I read them is actually like feedback to OP around benchmarking against competition.

Personally I love knowing about my competition, and it helps me with how I can differentiate and win over certain niches.

I don't know about OP, but I'm never offended by that, always grateful, helps me craft my message and delivery to the right audience and map out strategy.

I try not to over read into the open internet motivation behind end users, they may become customers, so I rather welcome them and seek to understand rather than judge.

hmokiguess··on Show HN: Sigabrt.dev – cronjob monitor with an SSH TUI
Why?
hmokiguess··on Teen Social Media Bans Miss the Point
Exactly, it's like talking about the symptoms and missing the point of the diagnostic.
