I think people massively underestimate what a huge keystone Boeing is in the American empire. The top of the system has rapidly started getting extremely anxious about the stability of the whole system, especially as they are fomenting war with China and Russia and their plans not only becoming unstable, but actions they’ve taken revealing themselves as extreme risks in the light of stalled progression and unaccounted faults like what has been observed at Boeing the last years.
I personally see just the suspicion of what happened to these folks far more is a symptom of a failing system than is the failing system had neutralized them in hopes of snuffing out threats to keystone components if the empire. The people arts loosing confidence in the competence of the system, a far greater threat than even Boeing failing.
I could see it happen just for the Chinese to enter the U.S. market. It would also at the same time cause massive rifts in the west’s self-image of openness, equality, non-discrimination, anti-racism, etc (just like the TikTok ban is exposing) and the public will become painfully aware of the false and fake nature of our governments, if they block cars/Chinese companies without a legitimate justification.
If I were the Chinese I would do just that, not only offer cars that are not connected other than if one wants to connect their phone, but even make it a major issue and part of their identify and advertisement campaigns.
The overarching goal of the oligarchs is to eventually merge and equalize the whole of the Americas and Europe into a kind of Oceania from 1984 and revitalize a kind of aristocracy, but whose power and control is abstracted and secured through technology. Some call it digital-feudalism, I think cyber-feudalism is more accurate because it evokes the nexus between human interaction with technology more.
Peoples are promised one thing and they always get something way worse from it, the EU that is effectively already an abstracted tyranny, is just one example.
You can’t (currently) ticket people for crimes like speeding, but you can use it to ticket for other non-criminal violations like other parking violations, i.e., replacing meter maids.
The other side of the equation is also that the same inundation of foreign nationals into the system will drive down wages.
We are all riding the dragon. We shall see how it unravels.
In the area I am spending some time in it seems to be a different situation. Several large apartment complexes were clearly planned/started a few years and are now approaching completion, while the influx of people has clearly declined. We are taking at the very least many hundreds of not thousands of apartment units. Many of the complexes are struggling to fill and existing complexes that have been sold and over-leveraged over the last several years are being poached with lease-up type deals, e.g., two free months.
I would love to know if these complexes are also outperforming. My anecdotal intuition is that they are not doing well, and will only get worse if the urban lobby will succeed, which is likely as it is closer to and in control of power and more corrupted than the non-urban lobby.
