hesarenu··on India’s second wave of Covid-19 feels nothing like its first
Maybe better healthcare. Kerala case fatality ratio is around 0.3 that is many times better than other states.
hesarenu··on India’s second wave of Covid-19 feels nothing like its first
Its not like people were not dying before Covid. Covid just increased the number of deaths. If you visited hindu cremation before covid you would have seen 2-3 funerals on a day(just based on my small city).

Bangalore i think now has the highest case in India. Kumbh mela or elections did not cause that spike or the spike all around India.

hesarenu··on ‘A Perfect Positive Storm’: Bonkers Dollars for Big Tech
quarter million dollars per year right out of school - really?
hesarenu··on Twitter is blocking tweets that criticize the Indian government
It saw Vindo Kapri name in Medianama article. That is the who posted a old picture as what is hapenning now.

were made by very prominent individuals - does not mean its true. That too coming from elected members, heh even journalist are tweeting incorrect information. Without checking the tweets we cannot come to any conclusion.

Did you read the article. Once guy posted a old cremation pic as covid cremation happening now. Another posted a pic about a different city as happening in guj(since modis from guj). They are by definition disinformation. Unless you have a source that includes other tweets which are accurate.

For Wire claims it be true while OP claims its false. Obviously OP is more free to diss on that. If the situation was reversed than Wire would have posted and OP not. These are media houses not Truth seeking journalists. Carvan has a tweet about farmer killed by bullet when it was not. Not sure if its deleted now, but it was there for a long time and Twitter did nothing.

Have you seen them with your own eyes or just posting what someone else said?. These type of comments bodies burned on road sides, footpath were common last time as well.

Most of the cases are asymptotic. Mild symptons are similar to seasonal fever. Obviously this would make them think its a conspiracy to make money for hospitals.

The situation on ground would vary from cities. Not every city is like Delhi. My small city(compared to other bigwigs in India) as of now has no issues. Health worker said Govt bed are 50% filled. I don't see people outside Govt or Pvt hospitals. But in Bangalore any huge spike(this is huge compared at last Oct peak) would be a very big concern.

So how i can view it to see if those are what the govt claims?
hesarenu··on Twitter is blocking tweets that criticize the Indian government
Are you saying the tweets mentioned in the article are false? (from Vindos Das, Kapri, Hansraj etc)
hesarenu··on Green vs. Brown Programming Languages
I do still like Ruby and not yet hate working on Rails app. But after using Typescript in Reactjs projects i just loved it. I have a new found love for typed languages. Now trying to move to either C# or Rust to get enough experience to confidently choose those for new projects.
hesarenu··on India's massive COVID surge puzzles scientists
It was not a easy first wave. The cases were rising very fast from june till october. Then suddenly it came down. It did not go up during following festivals nor during winter. I don't think there has been put forward a very good explanation on why the cases went down. Now in peak summer it going up though way more rapidly than before. Question would be will it come down like before without much understanding of why it went up or down.
hesarenu··on India's massive COVID surge puzzles scientists
I don't think there are many antivaxxers in india. The group who are in Ayurveda are more likely to take the vaccine and continue using Ayurveda thats from my experience.

Bangalore 99% cases are [asymptotic](https://bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/bangalore/others/94-4...). So most would not be sick but still spreading the virus around.
hesarenu··on India’s second wave
I though the same. Maybe it has reduced the severity. It seems 99% of infections in Bangalore are asymptomatic. Actual number of infections might be very large.
hesarenu··on India’s second wave
Last peak was around october. It was expected to go higher due to reduced restrictions and coming up festivals. But instead it came down drastically. There were many articles on what caused it to go down(weather, sanitation, food etc). Now in peak summer April suddenly its going up. Its a sharp rise. Would be interested to know the cause of the sudden rise in coming months.
hesarenu··on India’s second wave
Maybe they should advertise it like that. I and most i know are wearing thinking it would reduce our risk to exposure.
hesarenu··on India’s second wave
Wearing mask might just delay getting the infection. I wore mask all the time, wfh and go out only for groceries, still got infected. And when the CM gets Covid a second time after vaccination anyone can get it even with mask or vaccination.
hesarenu··on Products purchased at Apple Store in India cannot be refunded or exchanged
You can't take nothing for granted. My mac mini started having issues just before end of warranty. Now after the end of warranty to fix it would cost me about 1/2 its original price. My pro which is out of warranty also has issues again fixing would cost me the same as buying a new pc laptop. Apple devices are very good when they are under warranty at least in India.
hesarenu··on JavaScript from 2001 on India's largest private bank site
This reminds me of the issue i had faced on setting up account on HDFC. I entered a very long password. When i tried to login it kept failing. I was sure of the password. So clicked on reset password. Bank sent me plain password in email. And the password was cut off to 8 chars!. This happened decade ago though.

hesarenu··on India downgraded from ‘free’ to ‘partly free’ in democracy report
There has been demand for hindus to manage their own temples. This been a right winged party has done nothing on it for last 5 years. Not even in states they are ruling.

As for comedians there should be demand to remove the blasphemy laws. That would stop those hurting religious cases.

hesarenu··on Journalism, particularly at the highest level, is about raw power
This happens whenever Churchill is mentioned. Since he was fought against Nazis seems people don't want to judge his actions not related to it. Since it might picture him not as great man. Most of his opinions are the westerners. What we needed was more articles from Indians since they are the one who were affected.
hesarenu··on Journalism, particularly at the highest level, is about raw power
> If we start wiping out parts of our history that are unpleasant we won’t have anything left.

Then why are you trying to defend Churchill. You are trying to paint everyone was racist, Hitler would have come to power, we would have been doomed. Churchill was racist that is that.

> It doesn’t make any sense to judge people by the standards of society decades later. If we did that we would have nobody left to admire.

Depends on who judges whom. As they say terrorist is another martyr. For British people he is great savior for us he was responsible to death of millions. As someone said "If we start wiping out parts of our history that are unpleasant we won’t have anything left"

hesarenu··on Journalism, particularly at the highest level, is about raw power
Well what if East India Company did not come to India, what if Turks did not invade India it would go on. Anyway Churchill's polices led to famine, which could have been avoided. His attitude towards India can be considered as racist.
hesarenu··on Journalism, particularly at the highest level, is about raw power
Those are if and buts. I am more interested if he wrote similar for Churchill. As they say winners write the history.
hesarenu··on India accounts for 11 per cent of global death in road accidents: World Bank
The only time it does get reported widely is if the victim is famous. - Local papers usually report it. The one we get has a almost a page for it sometimes.

Nano has been discontinued. All the latest Tata cars have global ncap 4/5 rating. Whats disappointing is that foreign brands like like VW, Ford don't have 4/5 stars ncap rating cars in india.
hesarenu··on Journalism, particularly at the highest level, is about raw power
Interesting, what does he think of Winston Churchill. As an Indian we are not fond of that guy.
hesarenu··on India accounts for 11 per cent of global death in road accidents: World Bank
The headline would than have said that equal number were killed by mob because of the accident!

Tata now though have better safety standards cars than other manufactures some global ones in India.
