* Reduce prices further, making buying a Tesla even more attractive than it currently is. * Expand the market to other countries where they aren't present yet: this is not trivial but feasible. It could take their profit closer to other automakers, though.
The fact that they have stock for multiple weeks now isn't ideal, but they're still an outlier doing much better than the competition.
I remember when I was about 12 years old...
The school computers were quite limited in terms of software and it was just not viable to download or install mIRC during a class.
So I fired up the telnet application to connect to the IRC network everyone at school used. The computer lab prof. was not impressed... Next class she told me that if something happened to the machines, she knew who did it... lol
* granted, we used a lot of colors / decoration (ctrl + K on mIRC) and while I was able to demonstrate my abilities it was not much practical as it was just too damn hard to read the messages quick enough.
I think your car model isn't very appropriate for long distance travels, as most EVs. But there are some EVs out there that definitely can do it, especially all Teslas.
In an oversimplification, when Peter decides to do business with Paul and Paul is interested in taking his business it's because both believe they'll be better off after that.
Now you could [prematurely] argue that there might be externalities and so on, but you must recognize that that action of trading in itself can be seen as something that is going to increase the overall wealth of both as they'll be more satisfied after the fact (assuming everything goes well).
Yes, there are many rich people who are rich directly or indirectly thanks to wealth redistribution: the state is very powerful in taking wealth using force (violence) from the poor and giving it to some wealth people.
But the natural course of how people become wealth is by generating wealth in a way that is positive for everyone!
There's nothing wrong with being wealthy. Poverty is a real problem, and the states are partly responsible for driving people to misery through wars, and the evils of forcing their own fiat currency with inflation and taxation.
3min is better than 10min, but ask anyone if they'd prefer to fuel up 3 times slower and pay half the cost and I bet most everyone would say they would.
For fueling up, you must be there until it's done. For charging you don't. You connect your car and go inside the convenience store. With 10min, that's excellent. Chances are most everyone will either exit their vehicles, plug it in, go back inside their vehicle for 10min, walk around for a bit, or go to the store for a quick errant. In any of those cases the experience will be better than dealing with fuel.
My Tesla Model Y 2023 in the Netherlands complains a lot if I take my hands off the steering wheel. Heck, it even complains sometimes when my hands are in the steering wheel!
However, I rented a Model 3 in California through Hertz past month and it was much more lenient. I imagine I had to take my hands off for a period of time at least 5 times longer for it to start bothering, and didn't bother at all when I was driving with my hands steadily placed on the steering wheel.
In my opinion the one in California made long drives a bit safer as you don't have the pressure of putting the right pressure (pun intended) as much.

Surely enough, 2 days later I received the mail back at my mailbox. Wasted 2 euros ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just needed a single stamp, but they stamped on both so I couldn't even try to reuse it. And I also posted on the mailbox for "other zip code" rather than "close by zip codes".
I don't know if OCR or a person messed up. Well, definitely a person (me)...
My title is too presumptive. Yet, the reality for almost everyone who doesn't interface with other systems that already require UUID is that.
The brief article gives some points – backed by trustworthy sources – and shows some alternatives without further ado. I didn't spend days writing it. I could cover many more scenarios but didn't invest my time in it. So what?
I agree lines 12-14 doesn't do a proper encoding, but that's not what I was after. Would you still say it's still wrong if you consider that my function is not really encoding the string per se, but using rand.Read to generate entropy for what I want to be the final output (random string with the base58 alphabet)?
The good thing about UUID is that it's omnipresent. From what I've heard, it's this lengthy (2^32) because it was hard to guarantee uniqueness when it was conceived in the telecom industry. The length is overkill, and per se, that's fine, but the fact that it dampers communication is awful.
That all said, since posting this, I've come to terms with accepting that it's part of life ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
P.S. Using a second human-friendly ID to end-users is an alternative adopted by some projects. However, most projects don't bother, and also, most good IDs you might want to share with people would make UUID unnecessary anyways (in practice).

A great alternative is to build the Internet Archive so that after something is there "for a while", it is archived in a way that anyone can efficiently distribute it (thinking about long-term resiliency) and even survive a conspiracy to destroy it.
Because I had just been back from Germany again, I was worried I sped up by accident again, even though I don't remember this happening!
Guess what? They actually sent me a registered letter informing me I paid the fine I had received previously. Which I paid for on-line. On their website. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nice!

I just wish public transport here was more reliable and available during more hours. Yeah, it might be one of the best in the world, but it's not without problems... For example, after midnight don't trust you'll be able to get back home until 7a.m. if you're far away.
